In this episode, we explore Mark 13:14–23, where Jesus warns of a coming time of great tribulation and the destruction of Jerusalem. He urges his followers to act with urgency, remain discerning in the face of deception, and trust in God’s sovereign care even in difficult circumstances. This passage reminds us to hold loosely to earthly things, stay spiritually alert, and remain faithful to Christ in times of uncertainty.

Mark 13:1-13
In this episode, we walk through Mark 13:1–13, where Jesus warns about the destruction of the temple, coming deception, and the difficulties believers will face. Rather than giving a timeline, Jesus calls his followers to discernment, endurance, and faithfulness in a troubled world. We are reminded not to be alarmed by world events, but to trust God’s plan, rely on the Holy Spirit, and remain steadfast in the gospel as it goes to all nations.

And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
