All the Evidence in the Case of Nolan Wells: The Grand Jury vs The Family's Investigators.
What the grand jury saw in the case of Nolan Wells that led to no trial — and what the family's investigators uncovered.
On July 4th on Horn Island, 18-year-old Nolan Wells went missing after a group boat trip. Two days later he was found on the island. A grand jury reviewed 132 subpoenas and 43 witnesses and found his death consistent with drowning, with no charges filed.
Brian Scott and Jill Egan walk through both tracks side by side: what the state's findings concluded about the Nolan Wells autopsy and the Nolan Wells grand jury decision, and what independent investigators documented about the timeline, head injuries, phone data and Snapchat messages.

She Kept a Piece of Her Victim’s Skull: Christa Pike and the Murder of Colleen Slemmer
At 18, Christa Pike became the youngest woman sentenced to death in America. 30 years later, she’s still Tennessee’s only woman on death row — and the state has set her execution for September 30, 2026.
In this episode of the Daily Scaries True Crime Podcast, Brian Scott and Jill Egan pull back the veil on a classic case that still shocks Knoxville to this day: the 1995 Job Corps murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer.
What really happened on that wooded hilltop off Moody Avenue? Why did a dispute over a boyfriend turn into a planned, brutal attack involving Christa, her 17-year-old boyfriend Tadaryl Shipp, and Shadolla Peterson? And what did investigators find in Christa’s pocket that became one of the most disturbing pieces of evidence in Tennessee history?
Brian and Jill walk through the timeline, the trial that led to a death sentence in 1996, the failed appeals, and the theories around motive, manipulation, and mental health that defense teams have argued for decades.
If the execution proceeds, Pike would be the first woman executed in Tennessee in more than 200 years.

She Predicted Her Own Murder -The Julie Jensen Case | Daily Scaries True Crime Podcast
She predicted her own murder — and named her killer in a letter.
On December 3, 1998, Julie Jensen was found dead in her Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin home, poisoned by ethylene glycol. Antifreeze. In the months before her death, she had been quietly documenting her fear: emails to police, and a letter handed to a neighbor with one instruction — open it only if I die. In it, she named her husband, Mark.
In this episode, Brian Scott and Jill Egan pull back the veil on one of Wisconsin's most haunting murder cases: a marriage unraveling in silence, a murder weapon sold at any hardware store, and a letter the courts fought over for twenty-five years.
It took a decade for the first conviction, a Wisconsin Supreme Court reversal over the letter itself, and a second trial in 2023 to finally put Mark Jensen behind bars for life.
No witnesses. No confession. Just a woman who saw it coming — and made sure the truth would outlive her.

Daily Scaries True Crime Podcast Ep 3 | Nolan Wells: Sealed Autopsy & Federal Charges
Nolan Xavier Wells was 18 when he boarded a boat for Horn Island, Mississippi with friends and never came back. Seven people left the island. Only six returned.
This episode breaks down the Nolan Wells update everyone is asking about: why the state autopsy was sealed, what the "undetermined" finding actually means, and why three strangers are now facing federal charges for witness intimidation and hoax bomb threats —charges that have nothing to do with Nolan's disappearance.
Brian and Jill separate what's verified from what's spreading online, walk through the full timeline, and lay out the theories investigators are still chasing.

In this episode of Daily Scaries True Crime Podcast, Brian Scott and Jill Egan dig into the financial pressure and religious justification behind the murders, the meticulous planning that let List escape undetected, and the theories that still surround why he did it.
