Dallas is the third largest metro area in America with lots of amazing music from every genre pouring out of it. It's also populated with amazing visual artists with vibrant murals and electrifying galleries-but who makes the scene go? Who are the movers and shakers of Dallas? And why does it seem like a lot of people don't seem to know the history and the stories of these people that help make Dallas a rich and vibrant artistic community. Im your host Andrew Sherman and I invite you to join me in this pursuit.

Photographer and author Will Von Bolton joins the Dallas Famous Podcast to talk fine art photography, sacred geometry, and designing experiences. A drummer turned touring photographer, Will has shot pop acts like R5 and Jesse McCartney around the world. Now his lens is focused on fine art.
His Vitruvian Man portrait of Cameron McCloud became the cover of Cure For Paranoia's album Work of A.R.T. His series Don't Shoot My Face treats the human form as a study of line and geometry. He is also the author of Becoming Conscious.
In this episode, Will shares how he went from playing drums to touring the world as a photographer, how sacred geometry shapes his art, and what it means to design an experience rather than just take a picture.

S6 Ep 22 Damoyee
Got it, let's make it read like an actual YouTube description built for search rather than a caption. That means longer, more natural language, more specific keywords for how people actually search, and no social-media shorthand.
On this episode of the Dallas Famous Podcast, host Andrew Sherman sits down with Damoyee, a Dallas based live looping artist, singer and multi instrumentalist who builds complete songs on stage in real time using only a loop pedal and whatever instrument she picks up next. Damoyee walks through her entire looping process, explaining how she layers vocals, keys and rhythm to build a full band sound as a solo performer, and how that process has evolved since she first started performing.
A graduate of Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Berklee College of Music, Damoyee has composed music that has appeared in national advertising campaigns and is currently preparing for a multi city tour. In this conversation, she talks about her early classical piano training, how that foundation shaped her approach to live looping, what it is like to write and perform without a backing band, and the creative instincts that guide her while she is building a song live in front of an audience.
Whether you are a musician curious about live looping technique, a fan of Dallas music and the Deep Ellum scene, or just discovering Damoyee for the first time, this episode goes deep into the process behind her sound. Stick around til the end to see Damoyee perform her original song "Don't Know."

S6 Ep 21 Oscar Quesada
Oscar Quesada isn't just a painter, he's lived about six lives to get to the canvas. From a childhood accident that put a brush in his hand at four years old, to a pandemic spent painting portraits of comedians like Ralphie May and Michelle Wolf, to a strange stretch of security work that put him in the middle of the Unabomber investigation, Oscar's story is one of the wildest we've had on the show. His current exhibition, Texas Is On Fire, is up now at the Kessler Theater through October, and he's already lining up his next show in Houston.
