Why Every Disney Fan MUST Visit The Walt Disney Family Museum

If you love Disney theme parks, animation, and history, there is one place on Earth where you can stand in the room with the actual origins of that magic. It isn’t in Burbank or Anaheim—it’s in the Presidio of San Francisco at The Walt Disney Family Museum. In this episode of Daps Magic - Disney and Positive Stuff, Mr. Daps explores why every Disney fan needs to make the pilgrimage to this incredible museum. Unlike corporate venues, the Walt Disney Family Museum was founded by Walt’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, to tell the deeply personal, human story of Walt Disney—his triumphs, struggles, and artistic legacy. Plus, Mr. Daps shares an archival interview from the museum’s special exhibition preview for Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book: Making a Masterpiece featuring Disney Legend Andreas Deja! Andreas—the legendary animator behind iconic characters like Jafar, Scar, Gaston, Hercules, Lilo, and Mama Odie—talks about how The Jungle Book originally inspired his career, what it takes to curate a museum exhibition, preserving thousands of original animation drawings, and an unforgettable story about working with Disney Legend Richard Sherman. In This Episode: What Makes the Museum Special: The personal history of Walt Disney, interactive galleries, and iconic artifacts like the multiplane camera and original Disneyland concepts. Special Exhibitions: How rotating curated galleries bring animation craftsmanship and history to life. Interview with Andreas Deja: Exploring his personal art collection, curating The Jungle Book: Making a Masterpiece exhibit, interactive museum experiences, and a heartwarming lullaby story with Richard Sherman. Disney’s New Blueprint: Storytelling, Tech, and "One Disney"

In this episode of Daps Magic - Disney and Positive Stuff, Mr. Daps dives into the overarching vision for The Walt Disney Company under the leadership of CEO Josh D’Amaro. Rather than temporary trends, D’Amaro is guiding the company’s future through three foundational, executive principles: Great Storytelling as Our North Star, Technology in Service to Creativity, and Operating as One Disney. The discussion focuses on how these principles are actively shaping Disney's decisions today—highlighted by the historic appointment of Karandeep Anand as the company’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Daps breaks down how a dedicated CTO addresses long-standing technological pain points, why technology is designed to act as a supporting partner to human artistry rather than replace it, and how building a unified "One Disney" culture creates an interconnected experience across streaming, parks, merchandise, and live events. In This Episode: The Leadership of Josh D'Amaro: How his executive principles act as guiding laws for the present and future of Disney. Disney’s First Chief Technology Officer: Analyzing the announcement of Karandeep Anand and what dedicated tech leadership means for the guest experience. Principle 1: Storytelling as the North Star: Why creative leadership across animation, film, and live experiences remains the ultimate priority. Principle 2: Tech Supporting Creativity: How innovations like Audio-Animatronics and digital platforms serve narrative immersion without overshadowing emotional connection. Principle 3: Operating as "One Disney": Breaking down silos to build cross-platform synergy across streaming, parks, consumer products, and global events.
