Why Leadership isn't just about better people, but about better Systems - with Leadership Strategist Christina Pate, PhD
My guest this episode is Christina Pate, psychologist and leadership strategist. Christina challenges a common assumption: that better leadership comes primarily from developing better people. Instead, she makes the case for looking at the conditions leaders operate within - and how those conditions shape habits and behavior, often more powerfully than any individual development effort. This conversation was especially exciting for me, since the "Leadership Operating System" (LOS) is something I've been researching and applying in my own work for a couple of years now. Watching Christina and I arrive at overlapping ideas from different angles was a real delight - and I think you'll enjoy seeing how these threads weave together. Have fun listening to this new episode of Dare to Evolve! 🔗 Connect with Christina: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christinapate/

How to turn any Conversation into a Developmental Experience – with Adulthood Development Expert Romeck van Zeijl
In this episode, DARE TO EVOLVE host Nik sits down with Romeck van Zeijl – psychotherapist, couple therapist, leadership development expert, and executive coach with decades of experience at the intersection of adult development, somatic practices, and human transformation. Nik and Romeck have known each other for nearly a decade, and this conversation reflects exactly that: two people who think deeply about human growth, speaking with the kind of honesty and ease that only comes with time. We dive into: - Why curiosity and the quality of your inquiry shape every conversation you have - The different modes of listening – and why most of us are barely scratching the surface - How to build a deliberately developmental culture in teams and organizations - What to watch out for so that developmental culture doesn't collapse into collective self-pity - Romeck's work with couples and leaders on his ancient landstrip in Portugal – and what that context unlocks Whether you're a leader, a partner, a parent, or simply someone who wants to show up better in the moments that matter – this episode gives you something you can use today, in any conversation, anywhere. Modern Management Nonsense - with the worlds`s leading complexity expert Dave Snowden
In this provocative episode, DARE TO EVOLVE host Nik sits down with Dave Snowden – Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of The Cynefin Co., creator of the Cynefin framework, and one of the most influential (and controversial) voices in applied complexity science. Known for his sharp cynicism and iconoclastic style, he challenges some of the biggest myths in modern management thinking. We dive into: - The biggest fads in management & leadership today - How everything that is made explicit will be gamed by people - Why Reinventing Organizations by Laloux failed - What makes standard organizational models and “best practices” approaches fail - How Cynefin has evolved over time Dave’s insights are provocative, unapologetically pragmatic, and deeply rooted in complexity science. If you’ve ever questioned the shallow buzzwords and rigid models dominating management discourse, this episode will shake up your perspective; and surely even make you laugh along the way. Ideas We`ve Lost - with Prof. Denise M. Rousseau
What ideas have we lost in the way we think about work, leadership, and organizations? In this thought-provoking episode, DARE TO EVOLVE host Nik sits down with Denise Rousseau, University Professor at Carnegie Mellon and one of the most influential voices in organizational psychology. With decades of pioneering research on leadership, trust, and psychological contracts, Denise invites us to reexamine how people and organizations evolve together; and what happens when they don’t. We dive into: - Why writing remains one of the most powerful tools for clear thinking - How the very nature of leadership has changed across generations - The surprising shift toward self-made psychological contracts - Why the “dose” of any organizational intervention matters as much as the method Denise’s insights are both deeply human and rigorously evidence-based. If you’re interested in the future of leadership, organizational change, or simply how people can thrive at work, this conversation will expand your perspective.
