A legendary fashion model Coco Mitchell is sharing her story of becoming and her recipe for staying true to yourself while working in a highly competitive fashion industry for 40 years, living in different countries, doing the social good work and serving her big purpose. In this episode we will also see how the 2020 pandemic has provoked a search for new ways of being and becoming more self. Ep. 17: "All is One" Project: Shall we have a conversation?
In this solo episode I am sharing some thoughts and observations on our inability to have a conversation and communicate effectively both online and offline and how our "dancing" around sensitive subjects does not help us come to any resolution of most important societal issues. I am also telling the story of my "All is One" project, the creation of which was triggered and inspired by this year's events in the US and in the world. "All is One" is a multimedia art project that is meant to create a platform for people to speak up and listen to each other's opinions and thoughts with a hope to relearn the forgotten art of conversation. In this episode I refer to the following writings and interview: "Intimations" by Zadie Smith https://www.amazon.com/Intimations-Six-Essays-Zadie-Smith/dp/059329761X "White Debt" by Eula Biss https://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/06/magazine/white-debt.html Krista Tippett and Eula Biss: On being podcast https://onbeing.org/programs/eula-biss-talking-about-whiteness/ Thank you for listening and sharing!
