A Woman's Guide to True Crime aka Watching a thunderstorm inside the house
We're joined by the wonderful Mary Thorson to discuss true crime obsessions, liability insurance, and her collection A Woman's Guide to True Crime. We also talk about double digit towns, the joys of Lord of the Rings, and letting in-laws read your writing.
Mary Thorson (https://marythorsoncom.wordpress.com/about/) is a writer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her BA in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (go Panthers) and her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Pacific University in Oregon (go Boxers). She writes mostly historical fiction exploring the dark events of history and how humans react and respond to them. To her, there is nothing more fascinating than a witness. Her first short story collection, A Woman's Guide To True Crime (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/245409139-a-woman-s-guide-to-true-crime), was released in March 2026.
