Digital Product Passport – a new era for circular economy | Claire Fioretti, Michelin and Stefan Novoszel, Tietoevry Create
What possibilities open when every product has a digital ID that records its entire lifecycle from origin and materials to repairs and recycling?
This is the promise of the new Digital Product Passport (DPP), which will soon be mandatory for all products sold in the EU.
The bold vision of DPP is to both combat piracy and increasesustainability. When entire value chains become transparent, the result is a game-changer for the circular economy. The question is: how do we get there?
In this episode of our Data Insiders podcast, host Oona Ylänkö is joined by two experts at the forefront of the transition.
Claire Fioretti, Head of Standards and Regulations for Connected Mobility at Michelin, plays a central role in the EU-funded CIRPASS-2 pilot, which exploreshow DPP could transform the tire industry. With over two decades at the company, Claire shares the motivations behind Michelin’s early adopter strategy and its benefits across the various supply chains.
Stefan Novoszel is an Automotive and Manufacturing Principal at Tietoevry Create, helping companies reach both sustainability and business goals via smart tech solutions.
Together, our guests discuss how DPPs work in practice, and the role of data spaces in the new forms of collaboration required from the stakeholders. They also reveal how early involvement does more than meet compliance: itgives companies like Michelin the strategic edge of reshaping the future.
Tune in and get up to speed on how we’re creating the infrastructure for a truly circular economy!

Loans connect us all. For both businesses and people, they are often a necessary stepping stone to making ambitions come true. On a societal level, they drive innovation and help sustain a thriving economy. Conversely, uncontrolled borrowing can bankrupt companies and individuals – or even fuel financial crime.
In this episode of Data Insiders, our host, Oona Ylänkö, asks: how can better data help us mitigate these risks and increase flexibility? To explore this complex topic, she is joined by top experts at the podcast studio.
Egil Årrestad is the CEO of The Norwegian Debt Registry. With a decades-spanning career in the field, his work history covers the topic from various perspectives, from public agencies and municipalities to banking.
Gry Arnesen, Head of Data Services at Tietoevry Industry, has played a key role in data-driven digitalization projects critical to businesses and society.
Marcus Bergquist, Chief Product Officer of Bislab, represents an agile fintech company founded in 2022. In collaboration with Tietoevry, they have been developing groundbreaking solutions for credit assessment and fraud prevention.
Using Norway as a case study, the trio discusses how data solutions prevent risky loans while making it easier to assess creditworthiness in cases that would have been challenging in the past. From personal money management to national economies, the solutions our guests work on play a pivotal role in shaping our financial reality.
Tune in to learn more about how data-driven solutions can revolutionize loans – and the challenges we still need to overcome.

Balancing AI regulation and innovation: Insights from both sides of the Atlantic | Petja Piilola, Blic Public Affairs and Benjamin Wallace, Tietoevry Create
The EU and US take vastly different approaches to AI governance – how should companies navigate the situation in the global market?
As Artificial Intelligence evolves at an unprecedented pace, the question of how to regulate it remains inconclusive. Recently, the EU has introduced the AI Act and shown signs of a more innovation-oriented mindset. However, there is still a notable contrast to how the US is reducing regulatory barriers to foster rapid AI innovation and maintain its lead.
This creates uncertainty in companies on both sides of the ocean. The pressure to maintain a competitive edge is high – but so is the risk of navigating complex legal frameworks when developing AI solutions.
So where is the right balance?
In this episode of Data Insiders, our host Oona Ylänkö discusses the topic with two experts who navigate these complexities daily:
A partner at public affairs consultancy Blic Public Affairs, Petja Piilola works at the forefront of EU AI legislation in Brussels.
Benjamin Wallace – Manager, Architecture and Security Americas at Tietoevry Create – specializes in security practices for highly regulated industries, helping companies manage AI-related compliance risks.
Together, they tackle such themes as the charged geopolitics of AI dominance, the challenges of regulating a rapidly evolving technology, and what businesses can do to navigate the landscape that changes faster than any laws can keep up with.
Will strict compliance frameworks ultimately create safer AI? Should organisations take legal risks to stay ahead of the innovation curve and be able to launch AI products globally?
There are no easy answers – but these insights from people who monitor the situation up close is a good place to start. Tune in!
