Launch Service: Sunless Daylight

After, a long time of planning and preparation, we have reached our launch day!

This sermon looks at what it means to be Daylight Church in Berea, and what it is that we aim to become.

When Jesus talks about Heaven, he is not pointing us to where we will go when we die; he is talking about bringing Heaven to Earth. The Hope of the Church is the hope of Heaven uniting with Earth. This church aims to carry the promise and to point toward that great Hope which sits on EVERYBODY's heart.

(Pre-Launch Beta Sermon) Jukebox Sermon 3 Fleetwood Mac Dreams

Fleetwood Mac's Dreams pulled off an amazing feet when it launched back to the spotlight, hitting number 1 on iTunes. It was part of a viral TikTok when Nathan Apodaca got out of his car, and road his longboard to work, drinking Tropicana Cranberry Juice from the bottle, while listening to the classic rock song. The perfect voice of Stevie Nix was introduced to a new generation. It makes sense that Nathan would use this song, because of the serenity which pours forth from Nix's vocals playing off one of the best baselines of all time. This song is not what it seems though... it captures the lack of awareness of Stevie Nix's boyfriend who appears ready to leave her and play the field, but if you look closer and listen to the lyrics, you can tell that the man who thinks everything is looking up is actually on the brink of disaster. Stevie treats the situation with appropriate boundaries, doesn't try to manipulate the situation, gives the man the freedom to act with wisdom or to act with foolishness, and reap disaster on his life.

This is much the same way that God operates. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, which is an idea that we need to explore. Obeying God and recognizing Him as the King of our lives is the foundation of a life worth living, and foolishness is the desire to walk away. Walking away might seem attractive and harmless, yet if you look closer, disaster awaits.

Beta Sermon Number 3: Remastered. When we first recorded this sermon, the echo was so bad that it was unlistenable. Now with better sound, the obscene amount of echo is now minimized. Even with improved sound, it is fun to see how much better we continue to get at sermon production value.

Beta Sermon Number 3: Remastered. When we first recorded this sermon, the echo was so bad that it was unlistenable. Now with better sound, the obscene amount of echo is now minimized. Even with improved sound, it is fun to see how much better we continue to get at sermon production value.

Prelaunch Beta Sermon: Jukebox Sermon 2: Queen We Are the Champions

Queen's We Are the Champions is not the perfect song for facing our giants, but it might be a perfect for celebrating our dead giants. Let's look at how David's epic battle with Goliath falls short of being the peak of his life, but it does function as the springboard to the larger call that would define his entire life. Let's look at how our own small victories lead to a life that is worth living and that leaves a genuine legacy which is worthy of the name of Jesus, which all of us called and capable of living up to. Our prayer is that this sermon serves as your own springboard, which leads you to the purpose and significance that you yearn for in your own heart.

Beta Sermon Number 2: Remastered. When we first recorded this sermon, the echo was so bad that it was unlistenable. Now with better sound, the obscene amount of echo is now minimized. Even with improved sound, it is fun to see how much better we continue to get at sermon production value. Still not as good as the newer ones with better audio equipment, but upgraded audio software has made these a much better listening experience.
