DC House Grooves was established in 2004 as the online presence for Washington, DC based DJ Andy Grant. Over time, the site’s mission has expanded to promoting Washington, DC’s many talented DJs through the Body Werk events series and the Meet the Locals Podcast, and providing trusted information and opinion on what’s going on in DC’s underground electronic music scene. Primarily focused on deep, underground house music, yet inviting each DJ to showcase their own style, DC House Grooves strives to provide the best mixes from DC based DJs, and the best information about what’s going on each weekend in the nation’s capital.
DC House Grooves: Andy Grant & DJ Kochi Live at Flash DC | Oct 2, 2026
This is what DC House Grooves is all about.
No headliners. No egos. No carefully planned set lists. Just two DJs, a pile of quality music and a dancefloor, seeing where the night takes us.
Recorded live on the Flash rooftop on Friday October 2, Andy Grant and DJ Kochi went open to close for 4 hours and 40 minutes, digging through house, disco, deep grooves, raw cuts and whatever felt right in the moment. We started with an empty dancefloor, settled into the groove, and before long the rooftop was jumping.
These long, unplanned sessions are where the magic happens. Plenty of time to stretch out, take chances, change direction and respond to the room. No pressure to cram everything into an hour. Just selectors doing what selectors do, following the music and keeping the vibes flowing from beginning to end.
Huge thanks to everyone who came through and danced with us. This one captures exactly why we keep doing DC House Grooves.
Turn it up and enjoy the full 4 hours and 40 minutes. Andy Grant & DJ Kochi, live from Flash DC. 🪩🔊

DC House Grooves 190: Hightower Returns | House Music
DC House Grooves returned after a short break on Friday, August 28, and for DC House Grooves 190 we were delighted to welcome back the mighty Hightower! @tim-jackson-705004796 Last seen behind the decks with us back in February for DC House Grooves 183, Hightower returned to the DC House Grooves studio for another deep dive into the underground.
This time we ran the full gamut of house music styles, with a journey through deep house, garage, acid, jackin’ grooves, soulful cuts, raw machine funk and plenty of selections that refused to sit neatly in any one box. Hightower dug deep alongside DC House Grooves residents Andy Grant and Katrina Mir, with the musical direction left wide open and the records doing the talking.
It was another proper DC House Grooves session: three DJs, a stack of music and no shortage of directions to explore. From start to finish, the night moved freely through the many shades of house music, with Hightower, Andy Grant and Katrina Mir letting the records lead the way.
