Minister Vijlbrief was begin van deze week nog hoopvol dat hij zaken zou kunnen doen met de vakbonden over de bezuinigingen in de Sociale Zekerheid. Maar gisteren waren de bonden snel klaar met het overleg en stond Vijlbrief met lege handen. Inmiddels overleggen de vakbonden en de werkgeversorganisaties verder zonder Vijlbrief. Dan was er nog een debat over de normalisering van geweld. Dat verliep -op zijn zachts gezegd- onrustig. En intussen lijkt het er op dat onze DigiD-gegevens uit Amerikaanse handen zullen blijven.

Opnieuw was het een week waarin het kabinet worstelde met de asielopvang. In Ter Apel werden mensen geweigerd, maar Minister Van den Brink wilde het woord crisis liever niet gebruiken. Intussen zette Gidi Markuszower de boel verder op scherp met uitspraken over Palestijnse asielzoekers en had hij het ook nog over omvolking. Wat voor impact hebben deze uitspraken op de politiek en de asielopvang?

In de coalitie zijn er spanningen vanwege de hypotheekrenteaftrek. Hoewel in het coalitieakkoord is afgesproken dat de hypotheekrenteaftrek onaantastbaar blijft, lijken het CDA en D66 daar toch aan te willen morrelen. En daar is de VVD niet blij mee. Intussen maken de vakbonden het de regering moeilijk, want die willen dat binnen twee weken de bezuinigingen op de sociale zekerheid van tafel gaan. Zo niet, dan leggen ze met stakingen het land plat. En dan is er nog het hoofdpijndossier: de asielopvang. In meerdere steden en dorpen zijn er protesten die uit de hand zijn gelopen. Hoe gaat de regering hier mee om?
