Paul Kingsnorth: dwarsdenker in het technologische tijdperk

De Engelse schrijver en denker Paul Kingsnorth laat in zijn boek <a href="https://www.boekenwereld.com/paul-kingsnorth-tegen-de-machine-9789043544252">Tegen de machine</a> zien hoe de Machine, onder de vlag van vooruitgang, de westerse beschaving heeft afgebroken en de aarde vernietigt. In de traditie van denkers als Wendell Berry, Jacques Ellul en Simone Weil houdt Kingsnorth een vurig pleidooi voor een menselijker bestaan. Voor wantrouwen tegenover macht, voor hernieuwde verbondenheid met land, natuur en erfgoed, en voor een leven met zorg voor de ziel. Het fascinerende levensverhaal van Hendrikus Berkhof

Hendrikus Berkhof (1914-1995) is een van de meest invloedrijke Nederlandse theologen van de twintigste eeuw. Karel Blei schreef de biografie Hendrikus Berkhof, een fascinerende levensverhaal van deze creatieve theoloog, die er levenslang naar zocht het evangelie verstaanbaar te maken voor een naoorlogse samenleving. Hij ging daarbij het gesprek aan met alle richtingen in de theologie, van orthodox tot vrijzinnig. Evert Jonker, emeritus hoogleraar praktische theologie en net als Berkhof was hij predikant in de hervormde gemeente Lemele en Archem en ook werkzaam aan het theologisch seminarie in Doorn, is te gast in deze aflevering van De theologie podcast. Tom Mikkers gaat met hem in gesprek over het leven en de betekenis van Hendrikus Berkhof.
