Dead Air Files is where real encounters with the unexplained meet the eerie crackle of a lost radio signal. Hosted by Mac and LT—two Cousins with firsthand experiences in the paranormal—this show dives into true ghost stories, urban legends, and haunted investigations from Appalachia and beyond.
Each episode unfolds like a case file: chilling listener submissions, on-the-ground investigations, and the lore behind the world’s most haunted places. No cheap jump scares here—just raw, atmospheric storytelling, skeptical curiosity, and respect for the unknown.
Tune in… and don’t touch that dial. The dead air’s never really empty.
High in the shadowed ridges of Appalachia, whispers of witchcraft and folk magic have lingered for centuries. From root workers and conjure women to whispered curses and protective charms nailed above cabin doors, the mountains are alive with stories of those who walked the thin line between healer and feared witch. In this episode, we unravel the lore of Appalachian folk magic, the secrets passed down in hushed tones, and the witches said to gather in secret covens on the ridge

DAF:Ep.10 - Tommyknockers At Midnight (Nuttallburg Ghost Town)
Beneath the rusting bones of Nuttallburg, the dead still whisper — miners’ knocks echoing through the gorge, warnings from the Tommyknockers who once haunted the coal seams. But not every shadow belongs to a ghost. As we searched for spirits, footsteps followed too close, and the line between folklore and real danger blurred. In this case file, we face the unnerving truth: sometimes it isn’t the dead you need to fear.

Dead Air Files. Ep. 5: The Haunted Road of Yellow Sulphur
Tucked away along a winding backcountry road in Virginia, the Yellow Sulphur Springs Hotel stands as a weathered sentinel over centuries of history and hauntings. Once a lavish resort where travelers sought healing in its mineral-rich waters, the site became a crossroads for soldiers, settlers, and spirits alike. Its past is steeped in Civil War bloodshed, Cherokee displacement, and the quiet endurance of the African American community that built and worked the grounds.
But the echoes haven’t faded. Locals still speak of shadowy figures drifting through the windows, spectral soldiers marching the perimeter, and phantom music floating from the darkness. Some swear the road itself twists reality—where headlights vanish into the fog and unseen footsteps follow too close for comfort.
In this episode, Mac and Smash return to the scene with open recorders and restless curiosity. What begins as a late-night investigation turns into a layered journey through forgotten history, eyewitness accounts, and unsettling personal encounters. By the time the mist settles, you may find yourself wondering if Yellow Sulphur Road is just haunted… or if it’s alive.
