Join our journey as we investigate the origins of the Wild West gunfighter. We explore the myths, legends, and history of the Wild West's most famous gunslingers, starting with Wild Bill Hickok, the man who engaged in the first technical gunfight. Hickok's actual life defied the stereotypes of his legend as much as it lived up to them.
We will be examining Hickok and other gunslingers through a lens of scrutiny as we attempt to separate fact from fiction. We first delve into the McCanles Massacre (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc-43kkNu0B79Lkpg_ctO_WWiCWDcQklsYbjzkyIvswjpv_4A/viewform), one of the West’s most mysterious gunfights, among other key moments in Hickok’s life.
This podcast is made possible from my father, a man who has portrayed Hickok on stage and written and sung songs about him for the past 35 years.

Audiobook Excerpt of Deadman's Hand, Chapter 1
In this episode, I introduce the historical novel my dad and I have written, "Deadman's Hand," (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dsovM1dmnwa3VDbGdA3n8GoMKwoo3ykiSpDzHJlN_Ps/preview) to go along with our multimedia project about Wild Bill Hickok. Born from an abandoned script my dad wrote in the 90's, this novel is an exhaustive, intimate exploration of the man behind the legend. The novel follows a naive, cocky reporter as he attempts to unmask the legendary pistoleer and instantly becomes part of Hickok's next adventure...whether he wants to or not.
