Each year, more than half a million prayer requests come into K-LOVE. Behind every one is a real human cry for help.
The Dear God Podcast is inspired by those real prayers, and opens real conversations about the real struggles people bring to God every day.
Each episode explores one of many common questions we ask God in prayer — questions about health, marriage, making sense of the Bible, worshipping through hard seasons, and even learning to trust the power of prayer itself.
Join host Benjamin Windle for honest conversations with pastors, authors, worship leaders, and more that not only wrestle with those questions, but point us to where we can begin to find the answers — through personal stories, through practical Biblical teaching, and of course, through prayer.

Alexandra shares the story behind the song "Made You Well," and why she chooses to fix her eyes on God's faithfulness even on days she doesn't feel like singing.

Dear God, Do My Prayers Make a Difference?
When you’re praying but nothing seems to change, have you ever wondered, “Am I just talking into the air?”
In this episode, Benjamin Windle speaks with his friend Pastor Matt Smallbone, lead pastor of Church of the City in downtown Nashville and author of The Prayer Experiment. Matt shares how a painful season of loss made him question prayer, and how praying the Lord’s Prayer for a year changed his approach to God, forgiveness, and the things he asks for.
Together, Benjamin and Matt wrestle with why we pray when God is sovereign, what unanswered prayers and suffering can mean, and how the Lord’s Prayer can help us bring our needs to God while surrendering to God’s will. Silence in prayer doesn’t mean God is absent — God hears, sees, and cares from the moment you pray.

Dear God, How Do I Forgive When It Still Hurts?
Have you ever wondered how to forgive when the pain is still fresh—and the person who hurt you may never apologize?
In this episode, Benjamin speaks with Natalie Runion, author and founder of Raise to Stay, about navigating forgiveness, church hurt, and the difficult balance between healing and boundaries.
Natalie shares why forgiveness can be an ongoing process, what to do when closure never comes, and how leaders and everyday believers can respond to hurt with accountability and hope. She also offers practical first steps for forgiveness, including writing a letter, praying for the person who wounded you, and bringing the hurt to Jesus.
Listen in to hear how forgiveness is not forgetting or returning to harm, but releasing the weight of hurt and trusting God to bring healing.

Dear God, Why Can’t I Make Sense of the Bible?
Have you ever wanted to understand the Bible, but found yourself wondering, “Why can’t I make sense of it?”
In this episode, Benjamin and Church of the City Founding Pastor Darren Whitehead discuss a practical, five-question framework for reading the Bible in context and explain why Scripture is meant to form us rather than simply inform us.
Benjamin and Darren talk honestly about suffering, the larger story the Bible tells, and how the Bible offers not a promise of freedom from pain, but the assurance that God is present with us in the valley.
Listen in to discover how reading the Bible can become a spiritual practice that brings clarity, depth, and transformation.
