Apparently I've reached the age where my social calendar consists mainly of divorce parties and funerals... until a WhatsApp notification popped up: Nicole's Hen Tribe!
This week, I'm talking about second chances, friendship, life after divorce and why your forties might actually be better than your thirties - same energy, but with boundaries and slightly more self-respect.
I share the story of the friend who opened her door to me when my marriage was falling apart, helped me believe I could build a completely different life... and is now getting her own beautiful second chance at love.
Because divorce might be an ending. But it doesn't have to be the ending.
There can be happiness after divorce. There can be love after divorce. There can be hen do's, weddings, Ibiza Facetimes and whole bloody chapters you never saw coming.
Oh... and just when I got rid of the trumpet, a kid across the road has apparently taken it up.
Because the universe likes to keep me humble.

Dear universe, are we blended yet?
Six kids. Two dogs. One house. Colour-coded towels, labelled cereal, a suspicious number of deceased garden animals and one fucking trumpet.
This week I'm taking a break from the heavier stuff to give you an update on blended-family life - the chaos, the teething problems, the unexpected friendships and the moments that make me realise that somehow, amongst all the madness, we're actually blending.
Because sometimes life doesn't need a complete overhaul. Sometimes you just need to move a bed, label the Coco Pops... and ask your partner to remove the dead bird because deceased garden wildlife is definitely a blue job.

Dear universe, why didn't I just leave?
"Why didn't I just leave?"
Such a simple question for something that can be anything but simple.
This week I'm talking about why strong, intelligent, capable women can stay in unhealthy relationships - and why we need to stop asking "Why did she stay?" and start asking "What was happening that made leaving feel so difficult?"
We're talking love, hope, children, self-doubt, betrayal, the psychology of attachment... and my brief but frankly impressive career as unqualified private detective!
There are husbands behind sofas, feet that really should have been tucked in better, questionable surveillance techniques and some very questionable decisions from yours truly.
But underneath the ridiculous stories is something I wish I'd understood years ago:
Sometimes you do see whats happening. You're just not ready for what seeing it means.
An episode about understanding the woman who stayed, learning to stop judging her - and eventually learning to trust yourself again.
Dear Universe, why didn't I just leave?"
