In many urban schools across the country, you will find the primary audience to be minorities while the primary authority are white administrators and educators. Dear White Teacher is a podcast and platform designed to shed light on the struggles and to discuss strategies to build lasting relationships with students of color in order to teach them successfully. This podcast is for anyone that finds it challenging creating connections in the classroom but specifically focusing on providing a safe space for educators who may need assistance doing so!
Happy New Year!! On our first episode of 2025, meet Sunny "CC" Brown. I have had the privilege of knowing her for over 20 years. CC shares her story of teaching Sunday school in church, homeschooling her children, and then transitioning through Teach For America into the classroom. She shares her experiences that has shaped how she approaches her students and working in an inner city. She emphasizes that even though they may be kids, we owe them grace, forgiveness, and in some instances, even an apology!

The title for this episode is wild right? You have to tune in to see what brought that about. Trust me, its respectful but I learned something about myself that I didn't know as I had this conversation with decorated educator Diana Williams (@thespeducatedleader) who specializes in helping educators understand students with disabilities. Tune in and share with your fellow educators.

Do It Scared
In one of my most memorable conversations to date, Gabe (our videographer) and I sat down and I got to share my journey, my heart, my vision and things I allowed fear to scare me out of doing. Not going to lie, it's a long episode, but it's a rich conversation.
