Join our hosts, Max Booth III and Miguel Myers, as we explore the under-appreciated world of shot-on-video horror sleaze created by low-budget filmmakers and sometimes genuine psychopaths.
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we finally embraced SOV royalty and watched UFO Abduction (aka The McPherson Tape). Is this the worst birthday party of all time, or the coolest? Tune in and find out!

Debbie Does Damnation
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we watched the absolutely delightful Super 8 claymation masterpiece DEBBIE DOES DAMNATION from 1999. The devil needs his horns, and it's up to a recently diseased naked woman named Debbie to track them down somewhere in the underworld. Sword fights! Gratuitous nudity! Spider skulls! Bat skulls! Reanimated dismembered corpses! Plus: Hilarious dubbing! Penises with faces! Bondage! This movie has it all, including the incredible line, "You've graduated from asshole to being dead." Also, did Avenged Sevenfold steal their infamous logo from one of the creatures here? Quite possibly!

Black Past
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we watched Olaf Ittenbach's debut SOV feature film, BLACK PAST, a delightful 1989 German splatter fest of blood, guts, and severed limbs that felt like the deformed love child of EVIL DEAD, DEMONS, and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. It is a nihilistic annihilation of the human body that we couldn't help but adore. We love practical effects and gosh darn it we love this movie.

Sledgehammer
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're talking about David A. Prior's SLEDGEHAMMER from 1983, the very first SOV horror movie released straight-to-video. A two-roomed slasher that gets creative with seances and spooooky ghost shenanigans? Sign us up! Just please, for the love of god, prepare yourselves for an atrocity of slow-motion editing effects. Also: which one of us once destroyed an entire couch with a sledgehammer so it'd fit into their trash cans? Tune in and find out!

City of the Vampires
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're talking about the 1993 shot-on-video snoozefest CITY OF THE VAMPIRES, written and directed by Ron Bonk. We hope you like very long scenes of guys driving and walking around to fill run time, because this thing is jampacked with them. So load up on some garlic and kick back for a slightly delirious conversation about vampires, snowballing, and...well, mostly those two things, honestly.

Bloodfeast!: The Adventures of Sgt. Lunch
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're talking about the 1992 shot-on-video science fiction action movie BLOODFEAST!: THE ADVENTURES OF SGT LUNCH, which was recently re-released by Vinegar Syndrome's partner label Saturn's Core. How did nobody get court-martialed while making this? The cast was definitely using real firearms, right? Also, would TERMINATOR 2 have been a better movie with an extended basketball sequence? We attempt to answer all of these questions and more. Tune in and enjoy.

Blood Lake
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're talking about the disappointingly mundane 1987 shot-on-video snoozer BLOOD LAKE. Is this the lamest killer ever featured in a slasher? Who allowed these children to be on set? Is this the only movie with a special effect credited to An Act of God?

How to Get... Revenge
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're talking about the utterly unhinged 1989 educational video HOW TO GET... REVENGE, hosted by Linda Blair from THE EXORCIST. How does this exist? Who is this for? How many of these tips would land you in prison? All questions we badly attempt to answer.

The Resurrection of Michael Myers
On this year's special Halloween episode, we watched The Resurrection of Michael Myers 1 and 2, which are two insane Swedish fan films from the late 1980s starring Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the clumsiest skateboarder you've ever seen. Miguel also recaps his recent experience attending Halloween: 45 Years of Terror in Pasadena, California. Hubba hubba!

Captives (AKA Mama's Home)
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're wrapping our Gary P. Cohen marathon up with his final feature-length SOV production: CAPTIVES! Originally butchered by Majestic Home Video and released under the title MAMA'S HOME in 1988, this movie has it all: bigamy, home invasions, arson, dogs drowned in fish tanks, gratuitous cocaine abuse, incestual relationships, Max Headroom posters, rude paperboys, and even baby-smothering. There's something for everybody in this one.

Video Violence 2
On this week's episode of Decayed Tapes, we're continuing our Gary P. Cohen marathon with VIDEO VIOLENCE 2. This time, Eli and Howard are making snuff films live on their renegade public access show, and boy howdy is it horrendous to watch. ALSO: have you ever discovered a rodent in your soda bottle? You may be owed monetary compensation from Pepsi. By the way, how often does your spouse think of Lorena Bobbitt? The answer may shock you.
