In this episode, we take a deep dive into the foundational elements of the creation of the universe, examining how different translation philosophies dictate the experience of a reader. By contrasting the King James Version (KJV) with the Magnified English Translation (MET), we explore how subtle shifts in word choice and translation philosophy can fundamentally alter our understanding of the text. Join us as we look at how different translation philosophies can "repaint the universe" and force a total re-evaluation of texts we often assume to be static.

The Beginning: Chapter 3
In this episode of Decoding Codex, we dive headfirst into one of the most famous, scrutinized, and misunderstood chapters in ancient literature: Genesis Chapter 3.
But we aren't just rereading a story you’ve heard a hundred times. Instead, we are looking directly at a brand-new translation that strips away centuries of theological bias to focus entirely on literal, root-level Semitic meanings.
Listen in as we break down:
The Sovereign: Understanding the raw power behind the multi-layered title used for the Creator.
The Shrewd Serpent: Moving past modern imagery to see how the original text frames this infamous instigator.
The Soil: Exploring the literal poetry of the human relationship to the earth, the consequences of the forbidden fruit, and the immediate shift in human consciousness.
Whether you are a student of history, a lover of linguistics, or just curious about the ancient world, this episode offers a fresh, accessible perspective on a foundational text.
Decoding Codex is a passion project dedicated to translating the Hebrew Torah into modern, friendly English.
Please Note: I am not a formal theological authority, a pastor, or an academic professor. I’m just a guy who loves the text, digging into the roots of these ancient words to make them accessible, vibrant, and thought-provoking for a broader, everyday audience.

The Beginning: Chapter 2
In this episode of Decoding Codex, we journey into Genesis Chapter 2 for a fresh look at the creation story. Moving past traditional, polished phrasing, this translation gets right to the raw, literal, root-level Semitic meanings of the text.
Discover how the text shifts from the grand completion of the cosmic design to the intimate, dust-and-breath formation of humanity. We'll explore the true linguistic weight behind the names of the Divine, the geography of Eden, and the deep, unified connection intended for the very first partnership.
The Master Craftsmanship: A look at the completion of the sky and land, and the setting apart of the seventh day.
Dust and Breath: Understanding the literal formation of man from the raw soil.
The Garden & The Rivers: Mapping out the landscape of Eden, its symbolic trees, and the waters that flowed from it.
A Partner Matched Perfectly: The original context of the relationship between man and woman (Ish and Isha).
A Quick Note: I’m approaching this project as a passionate explorer of the text, not as a formal theological authority. My goal with this translation is simply to make these ancient, root-level concepts approachable, clear, and thought-provoking for a modern, everyday audience. Thanks for listening!
