[dpr_xs_podcast_131_hannes_smith] This mix invites you to a deeper access. A journey through the dark and into your own thoughts. It begins with scattered lights and restless reflections, slowly finding rhythm as the night unfolds. With every track, things settle, focus, breathe. By the end, it’s calm. Clear, light, and quietly at peace. Recorded by @hannessmith, a DJ, live act and producer shaped by the electronic scenes of Berlin and Reykjavík. His sound moves between deep, melodic and experimental spaces. Never confined to one genre. As a former label owner of Cine Records, he’s been part of the scene for many years. Now based in Görlitz on the German‑Polish border, he studies communication psychology and explores how music influences the experience of the human mind. [dpr_xs_podcast_130_kiyotaki]
[dpr_xs_podcast_130_kiyotaki] The final podcast of this year was mixed by someone whose presence on Soundcloud offers little information beyond the music they publish. It may come as no surprise that we feel quite comfortable with this kind of online appearance, one that places the music rather than the person behind it at the forefront. For that reason, we’ll limit ourselves here to describing what we heard during our research: 水 demonstrates—both in numerous original productions and in mixes—that genre boundaries, even if there is a clear penchant for jungle and drumfunk, seem to play no central role. And so you’ll find a wide variety of drum-driven tracks and mixes alongside some great autonomic and ambient releases, with the connecting element appearing to be a tendency toward the atmospheric. Thank you for the mix, @Kiyotaki. [Follow Kiyotaki] Soundcloud: @kiyotaki YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kiyotakitv Bandcamp: https://kiyotaki.bandcamp.com

[dpr_xs_podcast_129_rrrobyn] Before the age of today’s constant, hectic video content production, people used to share their interests and inner worlds through a simpler, more restricted format: the *checks notes* blog. One of those blogs was www.robynthinks.wordpress.com, where @rrrobyn1 reliably supplied bass music enthusiasts with the latest releases, special mixes, niche discoveries, and more. Beyond that, rrrobyn also curated the label Through These Eyes Records. While both the blog and the label may now be formally inactive, rrrobyn certainly isn’t — which is why we’re happy to welcome him back with a second mix for our podcast. Big thanks! Enjoy the journey. [Follow rrrobyn] Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/rrrobyn1 hearthis.at: https://hearthis.at/r0byn/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/djrobyn/
