The common themes about retiring early and sitting on a beach a misguided assumption about what we really enjoy. In reality work provides us with the 4 S's (Social, Structure, Stimulation and Story) that makes our life meaningful and enjoyable.</p>

#2 Why institutions are necessary evils.
<p>As the US troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan after 20 yrs, the cause of establishing a robust democracy has failed. Taliban is now taking over the country. In this episode, I reflect upon the importance of institutions for building a healthy society. Francis Fukuyama's book, "The Origins of Political Order" offer some great insights into the importance of institutions for human flourishing.</p>
