Williamsport Mayor, Derek Slaughter and the Importance of Mentoring
In this episode of Defending Potential, we speak with Williamsport, PA Mayor Derek Slaughter on what drew him to volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Mayor Slaughter discusses the importance of mentorship and role models, as well as the impact it's had on him as well. We also hear from Lycoming County Board Member and Big, Pastor Raphael Mnkandhla, on the impact positive male role models can have in the community.

Quiz for Kids Sake
In this episode of Defending Potential, we learn about a new event being held by Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEPA and the journey of our producer Dan Kimbrough, who went from Little to board member. Quiz for Kids' Sake will be happening in place of our annual Bowl for Kids' Sake, which was our biggest fundraiser. Like many, we've had to pivot and are looking to continue to defend the potential of our area youth.
