About Degrassi: School's In!
Hello, fellow Panthers! My name is Eevee, and I'm a 25-year-old unapologetic fangirl and film/media grad. While I've been a huge Degrassi fan since grade school, I've never actually seen the original series (Degrassi Junior High + Degrassi High)! That's why I'm thrilled to introduce "Degrassi: School's In", where I plan to watch, analyze, and fan-theorize my way from "Kiss Me Steph" all the way to "School's Out" with the help of my friends and special guests! My upload schedule for regular episodes will be once a month, starting in September 2023!

Smokescreen with Craig Driscoll!
Have you ever wondered what happened to Rick Munro from Degrassi Junior High? Craig Driscoll, now a successful tattoo artist in California, stopped by Degrassi: School's In to chat with Eevee about the tenth episode of Degrassi Junior High, "Smokescreen", his experiences being on Degrassi for two seasons, and his life since! A brief episode synopsis of Smokescreen: Rick joins the environmental action committee to impress Caitlin. Meanwhile, Yick would rather make up a family history for a project than tell the class he is a Laotian immigrant. Eevee and Craig get to the bottom of important questions and topics such as: - How did Craig feel about the content of "Smokescreen" at the time of filming? - What does he remember about working with late director and Degrassi co-creator Kit Hood? - Would he ever attend a Degrassi convention or event? - Did he ever visit the set of Degrassi High after leaving the cast of Junior High? (spoiler: yes, and there's a great story!) - Would he eat a hamster? (spoiler: also yes, and...uhh... an interesting follow-up question) 😂

Nothing to Fear with Tom Melissis!
"School's In!" is back in session with a VERY special guest -- Degrassi's own Tom Melissis! Tom is best known for playing Mr. Perino in Degrassi: The Next Generation. However, he first appeared on the show in the '80s as Jeff, a young mechanic in LD's dad's shop, who was introduced in the episode we're talking about today, "Nothing To Fear" (Degrassi Junior High Season 1 Episode 8)! Enjoy over an hour of stories, goofs, and answers to questions you've been dying to know the answer to, such as... What was Toronto like in the '80s? Which cast members does Tom still keep up with? Why was Mr. Perino such a jerk that one time? What is Jeff the Mechanic's last name? (the answer is important and changes Degrassi history!) Stay tuned for the next episode, "What a Night", featuring Taylor Phillips coming soon!

Best Laid Plans Original Episode Outline with Degrassi Kid!
Hi Panthers! Expect a full episode covering Best Laid Plans with special guest Pat Beaven, AKA Stephanie Kaye's mom herself, soon! Until then... enjoy this bonus content! (For early access to episodes and other awesome Degrassi content, join the Degrassi Kid Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/degrassikid) at the Spirit Squad Tier!) What if Stephanie never asked Wheels on a date?! ...That's not just a hypothetical question! We have the real answer! In 1986, Degrassi began planning their brand new series "Degrassi Junior High." They dreamed up their main characters, their dramatic storylines and asked themselves "what if Stephanie went on a date with... Joey?" Through the next year, they worked on Degrassi, reworking and rewriting the episodes, until we got the show we love today! But, what was Degrassi supposed to be like? What were on those original planning documents from 1986? Together, Eevee Pacini and Degrassi Kid went through the Degrassi archives to find out and now we're going to share them with you!

Rumor Has It with Degrassi Kid!
How would the episode "Rumor Has It" change if Caitlin Ryan weren't the main character? ...That's not just a hypothetical question! We have a real answer, straight from the official Degrassi Junior High planning documents from April of 1986 (almost an entire year before this episode aired!), which Eevee and Degrassi Kid were able to access during their recent trip to the Degrassi Archives at the University of Toronto -- and we're going to share it all with you! After reviewing the planning documents, we discussed the episode "Rumor Has It", which aired on February 22, 1987! Episode description: Many of Ms. Avery's students think that she is a lesbian. Caitlin insists that her teacher isn't gay. After dreaming that her classmates think that she is also gay, Caitlin begins to feel self-conscious at school. Thank you so much for listening! Feedback and sharing this with friends and fellow Degrassi fans are both much appreciated! The Great Race with Sierra!
👋 Hi Panthers!! It’s 2024 and Degrassi: School’s In! is back with a brand new episode covering Degrassi Junior High Season 1 Episode 5, “The Great Race”, with special guest (and #1 fan of this episode) Sierra! In this episode: Responding to sexist taunts, the girls' swim team challenges the boys' soccer team to a battle of the sexes. But when star swimmer Melanie gets teased about her first bra, she pulls out of the race. Meanwhile, Yick and Arthur attempt to speed up the process of puberty. (Source: Apple TV) Eevee and Sierra discuss possible parallels between this episode and later moments in the series, Degrassi books and fan-fiction, which characters they think are of the LGBT+ community, and so much more! The Cover Up with Shane Worrell!
Do you remember the first episode you ever watched of Degrassi? This episode I sat down with Shane Worrell, a lifelong Degrassi superfan from Australia and active member of the Degrassi Kid community. We chatted about “The Cover Up” and related on watching & getting attached to Degrassi at an early age, gushed over our favorite people behind the scenes of the show, psycho-analyzed Joey Jeremiah a bit, and overall just had a lovely time & conversation! Hope you all enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed working on it and sharing it with you all! Thank you so much for listening, and you’ll hear me soon for “The Great Race”! 🎧❤️

The Experiment with Degrassi Kid!
Degrassi: School's In! is putting the "Degrassi Kid" in "Degrassi Kid Podcast", baby! That's right, Degrassi Kid is back for another episode, and we're talking Degrassi Junior High Season 1 Episode 2, "The Experiment"! Here's an episode description, in case you need a refresher: -- Convinced that Mr. Raditch is picking on him, Yick sets up an experiment, handing in an old paper of Stephanie's as his own. Joey finds himself in hot water when Kathleen and Melanie find out the drugs he has sold them are vitamin pills. -- Hope you all enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it! This is likely the last recording you'll ever hear of us before we meet in person for our amazing Toronto adventures, which is so surreal! Looking forward to continuing working on our Degrassi dreams come true! 💙 Keep an eye on our socials and the Degrassi Kid Discord for real-time updates on how our trip goes! The Big Dance with Jay! (@DegrassiMemeMashups/It’s 2023 and Degrassi Is Still On My Mind)
What's your Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High crackship? 👀❤️🤔 I recently got a chance to catch up with & have an awesome chat with this month's guest, Jay! You may know him from his top-tier Degrassi memes, usually posted on his IG (@DegrassiMemeMashups) (https://www.instagram.com/degrassimememashups) or perhaps you've seen him around Facebook moderating & posting on the popular page "It's 2023 and Degrassi Is Still On My Mind: The Next Generation" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1019459988759604/)! I first got acquainted with Jay through the Mother of All Degrassi Book Club on the Degrassi Kid Discord (https://discord.com/invite/degrassikid), which was such a great opportunity to connect with fellow Degrassi fans, all while learning more about the background and co-creator of the show we love so much! Jay and I got into a pretty wide range of Degrassi-related stuff during our chat, including Degrassi Junior High Season 1 Episode 2, "The Big Dance" 💃 Here's an episode description, in case you need a refresher! Description: When Voula’s father forbids her from attending a dance, Voula takes matters into her own hands and tries to sneak out. Stephanie, meanwhile, experiments with liquor, gets sick at the dance, and has to leave her date behind. Listen to find out how we got from Voula sneaking out and Steph getting drunk to... where Bruce The Moose is on the Kinsey Scale??? (You'll really have to listen to figure out how we got there because I'm honestly not 100% sure. 🤔) I look forward to having Jay back on the podcast ASAP (for a Rick Munro episode, obviously! 💯) & to coming back with another amazing episode next month! See you in November for "The Experiment" with a very, very special guest! 🎂🇨🇦👀 THANK YOU!!!! 👋😘✨ Hello, ladies and germs! ✨👋😘 It's Eevee V. Pacini here -- V for VERY SPECIAL GUEST! 🔥 *airhorn noises* I am so excited to share this episode with the world! Who could possibly be a better person to help pilot the first season of a Degrassi Kid Podcast than THE Degrassi Kid themselves?! 💋 Jocelyn and I had an AMAZING discussion (as we always do!) and I can't wait to invite them back one day soon! 👀 We talked about their initial introduction to Degrassi: Junior High (which they didn't like?!), our shared admiration for the "Mother of All Degrassi" Linda Schuyler, which DJH characters we think are queer-coded, whether or not we like kisses (spoiler alert: we love 'em!), the tattoos we want inspired by this episode, and more! Meet Eevee!
Hello, fellow Panthers! My name is Eevee, and I'm a 25-year-old unapologetic fangirl and film/media grad! Degrassi has been one of my all-time favorite shows for as long as I can remember, but I've never actually seen the original series (Degrassi Junior High + Degrassi High). So, while I talk a big game as a Degrassi fan, the truth is... I have little to no idea of where it all began, and I'd like to change that! This episode is sort of like an episode 0, or a trailer -- basically so that I can introduce myself, explain what brought me here, and why I’m making a Degrassi podcast! That's why I'm thrilled to announce my new podcast, "Degrassi: School's In", where I'll be watching, analyzing, and fan-theorizing my way from "Kiss Me Steph" all the way to "School's Out"! (This is a spoiler-free podcast! I will be avoiding spoiler discussion/discovery at all costs!!) I'll be accompanied by friends and special guests in episodes, starting with a monthly upload schedule - starting in September 2023! Stay tuned, and thank you so much for listening! If you want to follow/reach me: Tiktok: EeveePacini/EeveeTreasures Instagram: EeveeTreasures Or you can find me on the Degrassi Kid Discord server! https://discord.gg/degrassikid
