Episode 17: A True Patriots Murder : "The Mysterious Murder of Jack Wheeler!! "

Jack Wheeler was last seen by his wife on December 28, 2010, as he left their home in Harlem by train to return to work in Washington DC. After spending the day in Washington, he traveled to New Castle, Delaware, where he owned a house. This coincided with an apparent break-in at Wheeler's home in New Castle and an apparent act of arson at a construction site across the street. The next day, on December 29, Wheeler took a cab to the Hotel du Pont in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, where he notified his employer by e-mail that his phone and briefcase had been stolen. Curiously, Wheeler did not call the police regarding the break-in or the theft. To make matters even more confusing, Wheeler's phone was found by the police at the construction site across the street from his home after his death, as they were investigating the possible arson attempt. On the evening of December 29, Wheeler was seen at his local pharmacy in New Castle, where he asked several people if they could give him a ride to Wilmington. 40 minutes later, he was captured on tape by a security camera at a parking garage in Wilmington, limping and carrying one of his shoes. Reportedly he was rambling about how his briefcase had stolen. After spending the evening and most of the day of December 30 in the basement of the Nemours Building in downtown Wilmington, Wheeler was captured on camera leaving the Nemours building at 8:30 pm and was last seen walking past the valet station at the Hotel du Pont at 8:41 pm. How could a 3 time Administrative Aid in the White House, A Vietnam Veteran and a Decorated West Point Graduate with the HUGEST heart, disappear and then have his beat up murdered body found in a landfill 2 days later ??

For Clips and Photos of this Case & Others, please log on to the Delawhere Crime Podcast Facebook Page at : www.facebook.com/DelawhereCrime21
For any questions, concerns , or suggestions , please email me anytime "NIKI" at nrvdel@gmail.com - Thank you !!

Episode 16: She Just Wanted To Help Others : The Senseless Murder of An Angelic Hero : Dr. Caroline Ekong

Dr. Caroline Ekong was full of life in the months before her murder. She was newly married and ready to work less and spend more time with family and on nonprofit work, her daughter said. On October 14th, 2015, she had no idea or even a clue what her former psychiatric patient, Christopher Frick 21 , a man with Schizophrenia and psychosis since he was 4 years of age was planning. He bought a hunting knife, practiced picking locks and fixated on revenge for being placed in the Rockford Center, a psychiatric facility in Stanton, Delaware over 3 years earlier when his parents seeked help when he assaulted his own family members and threatened to end his life . She had not treated him or even had any contact with him since 2012. The mentally ill Christopher Frick knew the lunar phases of the moon and under the cover of darkness Frick broke into Ekong's home entered the back door, took off his shoes and went to her bedroom. He used pepper spray and then brutally stabbed the 55-year-old mother, leaving bloody footprints and stained walls and floors. Ekong's death also changed the course of her children and stepchildren's lives. Her daughter described her sleepless nights and anxiety after finding her mother dead in their foyer. And having tell her little brother who was 4 years younger that their beloved Mother was murdered. "Every time I think about this, my stomach drops, and I want to throw up," she added. "I want to help her, but I can't. I want to make her feel better, but I can't." said Ekongs daughter. We will always have an empty feeling that she will never be able to attend our weddings or the birth of our children !! Prosecutors and Judge Ferris Wharton said Frick knew right from wrong, though, and should not hide behind his mental health as an excuse to avoid his conviction and so did his defense lawyer and parents. Prosperous reason who was full time student at University of Delaware studying Math & Physics qnde on the Dean's Lists for four years as well as living in his own apartment?? If Fricks and his incompetent enabling parents had accepted help from Caroline at Rockford Center, she would still be alive today.

--For Clips and Photos of this case others , please log on to The Delawhere Crime Podcast Facebook Page at : www.facebook.com/DelawhereCrime21

-For any questions , concerns , or suggestions please feel free to email me "NIKI" at nrvdel@gmail.com

Thank You For Listening!!! :)
