Trust Your Creative Instincts: Mannie Fresh’s Still Fly Story | The Aligned Creative Podcast

If you’ve ever had an idea that made perfect sense to you while everybody else looked at it like it was the dumbest thing in the room, this episode is going to hit home. On The Aligned Creative Podcast, we use Mannie Fresh’s story behind Still Fly to explore what creative conviction really looks like when the vision is ours before it becomes obvious to anyone else.In this Creative Labs episode, we break down the tension between instinct and outside opinion. Mannie Fresh talks about building a song that almost nobody around him believed in, which becomes the doorway into a bigger conversation about authenticity, trust, and what it takes to stay rooted in our own creative judgment. Sometimes the work that connects most deeply is the work that sounds too plain, too real, or too unpolished to people who are expecting something else.We also spend time on the idea of capacity. Before we even get into the Mannie Fresh story, we talk about what happens when we level up without rebuilding the systems that are supposed to support that next version of us. Higher output requires more space, more structure, more durability, and more support. If our identity is expanding but our container is still built for an older version of us, burnout starts to look almost inevitable. From there, the episode ties Still Fly back to the deeper philosophy inside The Aligned Creative. We explore why relatable work lands so hard, why people respond emotionally when they feel seen in their real life, and why alignment matters so much when feedback starts pushing against what we know in our bones. There is a difference between receiving critique and letting people talk us out of our best ideas. At the center of it all is a simple reminder: our internal compass matters. When we know who we are, what we stand for, and what we are trying to make, we become much harder to knock off course. This episode is about creative intuition, emotional truth, and the kind of self-trust that helps us carry an idea all the way across the line. How to Know If a Good Idea Is Worth Executing | The Aligned Creative Podcast Ep. 05

We all have good ideas, but not every good idea should be executed right now. In this episode, we explain how we decide what deserves our time, energy, and focus while juggling multiple talents, responsibilities, and creative paths. We talk about the difference between an idea that sounds exciting and an idea that actually fits the moment we’re in. Sometimes something can be valuable later, but still be the wrong move for right now. That’s why we use a vision filter to check whether an opportunity aligns with our bigger goals, our current capacity, and the future we’re building. We also dig into the four questions behind that filter: would we do it if it didn’t make money, does it serve the big picture, do we have the bandwidth to carry it through, and what do we actually gain from it? Those questions help us separate genuine alignment from distraction, ego, and the urge to say yes just because we can. Then we discuss capacity, delegation, and the K.A.E. map, which helps us consider knowledge, ability, and energy before committing. Even when we know how to do many things, that doesn’t always mean we should do them. Sometimes the smartest move is learning, sometimes outsourcing, and sometimes stepping back to stay focused on what truly matters most. This episode reminds us that progress is not just about talent. It’s about choosing the right ideas, protecting our energy, and building with enough clarity to move forward with intention. Why You Can't Finish Projects If You Are Neurodivergent or ADHD | The Aligned Creative Podcast

We are not lazy. If we have a graveyard of 99%-finished projects and a brain that feels like it’s constantly buffering, the problem usually is not character but the wrong playbook. Much of the advice we’ve been given was built for brains that don’t move like ours, which is why many neurodivergent people feel stuck, misunderstood, or ashamed of how hard simple things can be. In this episode, we take a deeper look at what it means to live, create, and build relationships with an ADHD or AuDHD brain. We unpack the pressure that builds when we start with vision but struggle with follow-through. We also name the emotional cost of unfinished work, misread intentions, and being treated like our needs are an inconvenience instead of a real part of how our brains operate. We also explore the reality of relationships because being neurodivergent affects not just productivity but trust, communication, and safety. When we explain what we need and get dismissed, that hurt goes straight into the body. That’s where RSD, masking, and the fear of being misunderstood appear, which is why curiosity, patience, and real understanding matter so much. Then we move into the buffering brain, the experience of knowing what needs to happen but feeling like every step is lagging. Executive dysfunction can make even simple things feel heavy. When that happens inside a big project, it can turn momentum into paralysis. That is why the finish line can feel so far away, even when the desire to complete the work is real. The last part of the episode brings it home with a real story about losing a job, getting rerouted, and finally finishing a book that had been sitting in the system too long. It’s a reminder that sometimes what we think is a setback is actually the push that gets us back into alignment. Finishing is not just about productivity but about trust, relief, and proving to ourselves that our ideas are worth bringing across the line. If we’ve been calling ourselves lazy, maybe it’s time to stop. Maybe we just need a better root system, a better rhythm, and more support that matches the way we move. 00:00 Intro 01:15 Dropping the Weight of Judgment 05:45 RSD, Relationships, and Understanding 11:15 Executive Dysfunction and the Buffering Brain 17:45 Storytime: Losing My Job 24:30 Finishing the Book 30:15 Holding Each Other Accountable CL IG: CeezyPodgang TikTok: Ceezy.4way Clpalmer@muserpro.comhttps://www.facebook.com/CL891/podtacts.com Follow The Show IG: The.Aligned.Creative44 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61582352695608Free Resources 🪪 Identity Shift Quiz - https://podtacts.com/identity-shift-quiz⏩5 Day Content Accelerator - https://podtacts.com/the-5-day-content-accelerator 4️⃣The 4 Question Alignment Test - https://podtacts.com/the-alignment-test 🧠Neurodivergent Friendly Toolkits 👉🏾Rewrite Your Reality - 3 Step Identity Shift Toolkit - https://podtacts.com/product-details-1887/product/695d31ca2334b6f2d41e25f5👉🏾Creative Alignment Toolkit - Get clarity on your audience and content pillars - https://podtacts.com/product-details-1887/product/692b9ca4bb953a50ba91ff05 👉🏾Content Accelerator Toolkit - Design your own content creation machine to help you publish consistently and grow your business - https://podtacts.com/product-details-1887/product/692b9e77bb953af73d928bbf👉🏾Create a business encyclopedia with AI - https://podtacts.com/product-details-1887/product/6970b3c25c36fb75ad70c0f2 Need Personal Help?
