Leon Wells blev født i 1925 i et område, der dengang tilhørte Polen, men som i dag hører under Ukraine. Som en del af Sonderkommando 1005, blev han tvunget til at arbejde for nazisterne. Wells og sonderkommandoens opgave var at fjerne beviserne for de massedrab, der var blevet begået øst på. Julius Paltiel - En nordmand, der overlevede Holocaust
Julius Paltiel var en af de få nordmænd, der overlevede Holocaust. Paltiel var i Auschwitz i knap to år og blev på dødsmarchen sendt til Buchenwald, hvorfra han blev befriet med fire andre nordmænd, da de amerikanske tropper rykkede ind i lejren 11. april 1945.
