SERIES: OUR GRIP TO FORGIVENESS - A SECRET WEAPON PART 2/4: THE LADDER OF FORGIVENESS - EPISODE #3

SERIES: OUR GRIP TO FORGIVENESS - A SECRET WEAPON

PART TWO OF FOUR: THE LADDER OF FORGIVENESS - EPISODE #3

Our anchor scripture:

Luk 23:34 Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing." Meanwhile, the soldiers divided his clothes among themselves by throwing dice.

Ø Let me introduce to you today this picture that helps us understand forgiveness.

Ø I call this picture, The Ladder of forgiveness

Ø I want you to imagine a ladder, a device that people use to climb up higher and come down on it to any structure

Ø This ladder represent a continuum of forgiveness

Ø At the bottom of this ladder is the place or position of forgiveness

Ø Now as you move away from the bottom of this ladder, climbing up higher you are upgrading higher and higher to new levels of unforgiveness

Ø So that the closer one is to the foot or base of the ladder, the easier forgiveness is

Ø The more farther up one is on the ladder, the more harder forgiveness becomes

Ø Now the understanding of this ladder removes all forms of judgment to people who find it difficult to forgive

Ø Because we don’t know what pushed them to that level of difficulty

Ø Each individual experiences his or her own ladder of forgiveness

Ø Therefore the ability to forgive depends on the level on the ladder one is at

Ø It doesn’t solely depend on the event experienced

Ø Again this explains the reason why same event happened to two individuals but one is able to forgive and the other is not

Ø Or why you are able yourself to forgive in one time but unable in another. Possible answer is, you were on different levels of the ladder

Ø Therefore we can make this conclusion: the level one is at on the ladder determines his or her ability to forgive

Ø So now the things or opportunities that present themselves to us as people hurt us, mistreat or betray us, they work as powerful forces that push us up higher this ladder.

Ø That is why our grip to forgiveness or to the base of the ladder must be our active acts not passive acts.

Ø The longer that one stays at any level away from the base it becomes an opportunity for new events to push one even more higher up

Ø In conclusion, our grip to forgiveness is an active act of understanding forgiveness and our willingness to forgive

Ø I beg you my friend never give up the fight, together we will conquer all the forces that work at dislocating us from the place of peace and safety in forgiveness

Ø Finally, you may need to watch or listen to this particular episode over and over again until your will and desire to forgive becomes more clearer and stronger

Be victorious through forgiveness today! See you next time

SERIES: OUR GRIP TO FORGIVENESS - A SECRET WEAPON PART ONE OF FOUR: INTRODUCTION - EPISODE #2

SERIES: OUR GRIP TO FORGIVENESS - A SECRET WEAPON

PART ONE OF FOUR: INTRODUCTION - EPISODE #2

Luk 23:34 Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing." Meanwhile, the soldiers divided his clothes among themselves by throwing dice.

Ø Forgiveness is not the same as ignoring an issue. Ignoring is a passive way dealing with issues.

Ø However, forgiveness is an active way that involves acknowledging the wrong done to you, then choosing to forgive.

Ø A word that I will use frequently in this series: enemy.

Ø It is worth explaining it according to the context of this series.

Ø By its use we are not referring to people or human beings.

Ø Enemy here refers to:

l Satan and his forces

l Anything, any opportunity or forces that want to move you away from the position or place of forgiveness.

Ø These opportunities present themselves in many ways and formats every day

Ø The unfortunate part is that they mask themselves as people or human beings.

Ø In actuality they are more than just the human being in question.

Ø They are beyond the human beings that we see, according to:

Eph 6:12 Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.

Ø These enemies want to rob us of our victories and power. To make us dwell at human level while serious damage is done at the spiritual level.

Ø So the enemy, the devil knows that through forgiveness we can conquer any enemy.

Ø On the same vein through unforgiveness we will become our very own enemy though innocently or unknowingly so.

Ø Jesus at the cross received so many reasons and excuses not to forgive all the culprits who crucified Him.

Ø But because He knew this secret weapon of forgiveness, he held on to forgiveness as example and encouragement to say, forgiveness makes our victories to be more sweeter than otherwise.

Ø Forgiveness removes all the sour taste on our victories and achievements

Ø Prayer:

Please if you do not mind, let us make this short prayer: Father of all races and grace. Help us to conquer all our enemies through forgiveness. Help us to expose all the enemies lies about forgiveness. Teach us to truly forgive and help make this earth a better place to live and share peacefully in Jesus name. Amen!

Ø Be victorious through forgiveness today! See you next time
