Desert Streams is a quiet place to sit with grief, longing, and the steady presence of God. Hosted by Jessie Kuhn, LPC-S, these short reflections offer a gentle companion between therapy sessions and in the in-between seasons of life. No fixing. No pressure. Just space to breathe, notice what’s true, and be met where you are. You’re welcome to come as you are.

Share what this space is like for you I'm glad you're here. As we close this first season of Desert Streams, I'd love to leave you with one simple invitation. When life invites you to run, remember that the One who has never left you is still there. Together, we'll reflect on the promises of Psalm 23 and Isaiah 43 and discover that perhaps the invitation was never perfection—but simply to turn, again and again, toward the One who has never left. Thank you for walking with me this season. When...

Episode 11 — Remain in My Love
Share what this space is like for you What happens inside you when you hear Jesus say: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love." In this episode, I invite you to slow down and notice your own response to those words. Do they bring warmth? Longing? Resistance? Hope? Together, we'll gently explore what it might mean to move from striving for love to living from it—and how receiving God's love can become a place of rest rather than something we have to earn. If yo...

Episode 10 — Resonance
Share what this space is like for you As I've learned to stay with God, I've begun noticing small moments that feel unexpectedly personal. A song. A memory. A recurring theme. A question or longing that seems to be touched in just the right way. Not necessarily answers. Not certainty. Just the feeling that something important has been noticed. In this episode, I reflect on the experience of resonance—those moments that seem to meet us in places that already matter. A grief we've carried. A ho...

Episode 9 — What Begins to Surface, Again
Share what this space is like for you Sometimes when we finally slow down, something unexpected happens. What we’ve been carrying beneath the surface begins to make itself known. Together we make space for grief, exhaustion, anger, longing, and the quiet realities that often surface when we begin to feel safe enough to rest. This is an invi...

Together we notice the urge to fix, to force, or to move past… and the gentle possibility of being held right here. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, something in you may already be learning that ...

In this reflection, we gently notice what comes closer in the presence of God — feelings, ache, or quiet shifts that don’t yet have words. Together, we practice staying with what’s here without rushing toward explanation or resolution, and making space for what hurts without carrying it alone. Episode 5 — Already Held
Share what this space is like for you An episode for noticing what has been holding you — even here. In this reflection, we gently name the quiet presence that has been with you all along. Together we notice the quiet vulnerability of carrying something longer than we hoped, and the possibility of staying without demanding clarity, relief, or immediate resolution. Without pushing through or fixing anything, we notice what might already be holding us — physically, relationally, or spiritually — and allow ourselves to stay just as we are. More ep...
