Join Emily in conversation with textile artist and contemporary embroiderer Hanny Newton. Through an intuitive, material-centred approach to historical craft techniques, Hanny creates bespoke hand-stitched pieces using metal and natural threads. Her practice explores how embroidery helps us see ancient techniques in fresh ways. She was a recipient of a 2023 QEST Broderers Company Scholarship, part of her work using straw and grasses to create a sustainable ‘natural gold‘. Hanny was also awarded the inaugural QEST Sanderson Rising Star Craft Award in 2024.

Mawddach Residency: Notes From The Estuary
This episode evolved in collaboration with Mawddach Residency (https://www.mawddachresidency.com/) in Arthog, Wales. Weaving together a conversation with founders Scarlett Rebecca and Jake Spicer, alongside reflections from residents Emily Wilkinson and Hyunah Koh. Produced as part of Emily's own residency (supported by the SWW-DTP), this dialogue explores themes of artist residencies, landscape and creative community stitched together with original field recordings made on the estuary edges.

Walking Interlude: Field Sensing (Part 2) - A Meditation
These meditative tracks are a slightly different kind of walking interlude. Field Sensing (parts 1 & 2) is a two-part meditation produced as part of the Landing Project (www.thelandingproject.com (https://gate.sc/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thelandingproject.com&token=b22deb-1-1781783731418)), an art and agriculture project led by Molly Brown and Andrew Howe.
You can simply listen to these meditations at home (headphones recommended), or visit a field/open space of your choosing. These Field Sensing meditations are intended to connect the listener to fields real and imagined, guiding you on a sensory journey through the land, ecology and some of the cultural/systemic issues present in our everyday landscapes.
The meditations were written and produced by Emily Meredith Wilkinson, weaving in sounds collected by Andrew Howe, at Bettisfield Farm on the Welsh borders, UK.
