One of India's most highly accomplished coaches joins DOAPTC to talk tennis. Balachandran Manikkath or Balu as his friends call him, joins Candy to cover his role at the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy, which includes a pivotal role in shaping the careers of several of India’s top tennis players, Beyond his coaching credentials, Balu holds a distinguished playing career and therefore, his deep understanding of the game, both as a former top-level competitor and as a seasoned coach gives DOAPTC a deeply insightful look into tennis at the highest level. Included in the conversation is the state of Indian Tennis; the players to look out for and how Rohan Bopanna is taking matters into his own hands. Enjoy - and please subscribe and share! Bjorn Fratangelo

Bjorn Fratangelo was a top ATP 100 player - before injury forced to him to hang up his racquet. His loss was his girlfriend's gain as Bjorn started coaching Maddison Keys and in 2025 she won the Australian Open with Bjorn by her side. Bjorn kindly chats for an hour with DOAPTC's Candy Reid about his career; what makes a good coach; what he likes most about Tour life (and what he likes least); if he thinks US College is a good idea; and goes through Key's incredible start to 2025. Enjoy the episode and thanks for listening. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy (https://acast.com/privacy) for more information.
