The SHE Mission petitions NAFDAC, SON over unsafe sanitary pads ‼️
We have taken the next step ‼️
A few days ago, we raised concerns about the reported presence of VOCs, heavy metals and other chemicals in sanitary pads circulating in Nigeria.
Now, The SHE Mission Initiatives, alongside our network of lawyers, has officially served a Joint Administrative Petition and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests on NAFDAC, FCCPC and SON.
We are calling for:
• Immediate nationwide sampling and laboratory testing of sanitary pads
• Public disclosure of NAFDAC’s current quality and safety thresholds
• Recall of products found to be non-compliant
• Compliance with the statutory FOI disclosure period
Period products are basic necessities. Women and girls should not have to question whether the products they rely on every month are safe.
The petitions have been received. Now, we wait for action.

SANITARY PADS IN NIGERIA ARE NOT SAFE! ❌
For sometime now, I have been passionate about ending period poverty in Nigeria. No woman or girl should choose between basic needs and menstrual products. But now, another question weighs on me: Are the menstrual products people can afford actually safe?
Through The SHE Mission, I have met girls who once relied on newspapers and old clothes and now, even as we fight for access, safety concerns are emerging. I do not believe the answer is simply, ‘use a tampon’ or ‘get a menstrual cup.’ I personally do NOT want that and many women do not. We should not pit affordability against safety.
We need products that are both accessible and properly tested. For me, ending period poverty has always been about dignity. But dignity must also mean safety. As we fight for access, we must also fight for safety. Ending period poverty must include safe periods.
Thank you @doc.draizident @draizident.doc
and shoutout to the men who observe and join hands in ensuring that women go through safe periods.

Round 2026: Soft life, brave decisions! 🍷
2026 is the year I stop auditioning for my own life and start living it.
In this episode, I talk about leaving my comfort zone, stepping into rooms I once felt unqualified for and choosing courage over certainty. From filming a comedic movie series for four intense days (yes, I survived 😅) to saying YES to projects that scare me.
This is your sign to try the thing. Anything.
We’re talking about the “man in the arena,” why trying matters more than winning, and why future-you deserves proof that you showed up.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time, perfect confidence or perfect outcome, this episode might lovingly drag you out of that mindset. Because honestly? It’s better to try and know than to sit and wonder forever.
Press play if 2026 is your “doing it anyway” year. ❤️🔥
I mean, WINE not? 🍷🎙️
