Didn't Go Platinum is the podcast that looks at the unloved and the overlooked from the world of heavy metal. We ignore the classics and instead, focus on the lesser-discussed gems. Whether it's a rarely mentioned entry from giants like Iron Maiden, or a relatively obscure British thrash band's forgotten comeback, we're interested. Where other metal podcasts look at Rust In Peace, Painkiller and Number Of The Beast, we'd rather discuss Five Serpents' Teeth and Dance Of Death.

Who wants to take a good look at my jars? Didn't Go Platinum takes a trip into a serial killer's basement to discuss Nightbringers, the fantastic eighth album by The Black Dahlia Murder.
Regular host Tim Bolitho-Jones is joined by Jimi of the Bangers & Mosh podcast to talk about a mutual favourite. Nightbringers might be a later addition to The Black Dahlia's canon, but it's arguably their best work. Yes, even better than the one that you like best.
So join us as we find out the difference between Orc and Goblin vocalists and consider our favourite zombie-themed metal songs. We are the Kings of the Nightworld.
Well, we're not, but the band is.

S3, E15: City by Strapping Young Lad
All hail the new flesh! Didn't Go Platinum explores the world of heavy metal's favourite mad scientist, the one and only Devin Townsend. Regular host Tim Bolitho-Jones is joined by artist and the unofficial fourth member of the Bangers & Mosh team, Mr. Dan Goldsworthy, to discuss Strapping Young Lad's City.
Once, this band could have been considered Hevy Devy's "main band." But as his solo career and other projects have exploded in popularity, Strapping Young Lad have faded from the conversation. And that's a damn shame, because City is freaking brilliant, and among the heaviest albums we've covered so far.
Enjoy this deep dive into a fiendish slice of audio extremity, and try to ignore the bit where Tim gets the Ghost and Ki albums mixed up.
You can find Dan and his artwork on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/dan_goldsworthy/) and Linktree (https://linktr.ee/Dan_Goldsworthy).

S3, E14: Say Hello To Sunshine by Finch
We Say Hello To Sunshine in the latest episode of Didn't Go Platinum. Regular host Tim Bolitho-Jones is joined by Dave Stewart of the Noise Cartel to discuss the excellent but frequently misunderstood second album by Finch.
This remarkable slice of mid-2000's post-hardcore has become something of a cult favourite, but a sizeable chunk of Finch's early fanbase positively hated it. And that's not surprising; from the artwork that initially seems nice but gets weirder the longer you look at it, to the odd time signatures and disturbing lyrics, it's a very challenging album.
But it's also very good. Here, Dave makes the case for why it deserves a reappraisal. Don't go in expecting another 'Letters To You,' this is an entirely different Finch.
You can find out more about Dave's work with The Noise Cartel at their website (https://www.thenoisecartel.com/).
