The Evidence of Your Words | What Your Speech Reveals About Your Heart — Matthew 12:34
“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” — Matthew 12:34 (KJV)
What do your words reveal about the condition of your heart?
It’s easy to choose the right words when we know someone is listening. But what happens when we’re tired, frustrated, under pressure, or speaking privately?
Jesus teaches us that our words are more than communication. They are evidence of what fills our hearts.
In this episode of Digging Another Well, we continue our series, The Evidence of a Life With Jesus, by examining Matthew 12:34 and the connection between our hearts and our speech.
We’ll also consider Peter, whose manner of speaking revealed something about his time with Jesus—even when he was desperately trying to deny knowing Him.
Sometimes our unguarded words expose attitudes we would rather keep hidden. Other times, they reveal unexpected grace, gentleness, and faith.
Both tell a story.
Scripture: Matthew 12:34 (KJV)
Additional Scripture: Matthew 26:73

The Case Is Being Made
The Case Is Being Made | Evidence of a Life With Jesus — Acts 4:13
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” — Acts 4:13 (KJV)
What evidence does your life provide that you have been with Jesus?
When Peter and John stood before the religious leaders in Jerusalem, something about them was impossible to explain through education, credentials, or natural ability. Their boldness and confidence pointed to one unmistakable conclusion: they had been with Jesus.
In this episode of Digging Another Well, we begin a new devotional series, The Evidence of a Life With Jesus, exploring how a genuine relationship with Christ changes the way we live.
Throughout Scripture, ordinary people encountered Jesus and walked away transformed. Their words, actions, courage, love, and priorities became evidence of that encounter.
That same transformation is possible today.
Over the coming episodes, we’ll examine the evidence our lives produce and consider one searching question: Is there enough evidence in your life to show that you have been with Jesus?
Scripture: Acts 4:13 (KJV)

My Grace Is Sufficient
My Grace Is Sufficient | Finding God’s Strength in Your Weakness — 2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
We spend a great deal of our lives trying to become strong enough.
Strong enough to handle the situation. Capable enough to solve the problem. Prepared enough to know what to do next.
But what happens when we reach the place where our own strength simply isn’t enough?
In this episode of Digging Another Well, we explore Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 12:9 and one of Scripture’s most counterintuitive truths: weakness does not prevent God from working.
Paul asked God to remove his thorn. Instead, God gave him something else—sufficient grace.
The places where you run out may become the places where you discover most clearly that God’s strength was never dependent upon yours.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
