[…] So he grabbed his gear, hopped in his truck and headed towards Manhattan. Stephen made it as far as the Brooklyn tunnel before all the traffic was shut down for safety reasons. So instead of giving up, he put on 60 pounds of gear and ran on foot through the Brooklyn Tunnel to the Twin Towers where Stephen and 342 other firefighters lost their lives. Wow. So wanting to keep Stephen's memory alive and the memory of all of those we lost that day. and show that there's more good in the world than evil. His family started the tunnel to towers foundation. They started out helping orphans because Steven himself lost both of his parents before he was 10 years old. […]
