We are a house church network in central Iowa of people who are drawn to King Jesus. We want to walk with Jesus in the direction of people and walk with people in the direction of Jesus.
We continue our study through James, picking up in verse 5. We can request that God grant us the wisdom we need in order to persevere through trials because of who He is and the fact that He wants us give it to us. If we ask Him for wisdom while simultaneously looking elsewhere for sustenance, James says we are like waves just being tossed around. We are unable to receive anything from Him.

Why God?
We are taking a look at why to follow God and why He came to earth to die. We look at Matthew 16.21, we also ask you consider the following questions as you process the video:
1. As you look at your life right now, what 'heavy gear' (an old habit, a defensive attitude, or specific worldly security) are you still clutching onto because you are afraid you won't survive without it?
2. In Matthew 16, we are told that from that time on (a turn in Jesus' interaction with His disciples and in His earthly ministry), Jesus began to explain to His disciples why he MUST go to Jerusalem (meaning He didn't need to ask why for Himself). Is there a specific 'inward turn' or command from King Jesus that you have understood, but you are currently holding in 'pending' status because you're still waiting for Him to explain the 'Why' to you?
