38: I Shall Wear Midnight
Hellooooo discettes, discinos and discerati! Welcome back to DISC COVERERS, the not-even-remotely-monthly-at-this-point podcast that reads, reviews and ranks the Discworld novels! In today's ep, we cover I SHALL WEAR MIDNIGHT, in which an older, bolder Tiffany faces down her most challenging foe yet: a specter of centuries old bigotry and hatred known simply as.... THE SMELLY BOY. Gross! This is the broadest-spanning Aching book yet, taking us from the bucolic idylls of the Chalk to the rough-and-tumble streets of Ankh-Morpork. (It's also its darkest, so, uh, CW: discussion of physical and verbal abuse, miscarriage, and prejudice-based systemic oppression. I'd give timestamps, but that's, like, What The Book Is About. You've been with us for long enough, you can probably handle it.) Plus, a surprise character from WAYYYYYYYY back in Year One of our podcast makes a return appearance! Listen on, intrepid readers....
