[…] What is clear, however, is this. The east side parking lot is the first step in a larger expansion for the Disneyland Resort. Disney can't move forward with any other large projects. as all of those other large projects, and you should read larger project as something larger than a single ride, require Disney to close existing parking lots, such as the Toy Story lot, the Symbol lot, the Fantasy lot, and so on. So until cars that presently park there can be moved to another location, nothing can happen on that land. But once this new Eastside parking lot is finished, that shifting of where cars park can begin to happen, which means that Disney then will have space for far more interesting projects than simply another place to leave your car before walking over a bridge with a partial canopy and then stepping into Disneyland.
