Have you ever felt like God redirected your path? It seems to happen to all of us at some point or another. I call those redirections "divine fingerprints." They are just one way that God displays His love for us. Divine fingerprints point back to what He's said in His word, and they are most easily seen in the rearview mirror.
In this podcast, we'll be sharing stories of divine fingerprints. We'll talk about the ways God interacts with us and redirects us. He is intentional about His plan. Come join me as I interview some wonderful guests!
My friend Chris Bolkema has gone through a couple episodes in her life that rocked her world. Yet she still lives with a joy that most of us struggle to find due to her faith in Jesus. We'll never know or understand why things happen the way they do, at least not on this side of eternity. God's ways truly are higher than our ways. But we can take comfort in knowing how He walks the path with us through the highs and lows. Connect with Andy on Facebook and Instagram @andy_troeger. Jon Seidl: Abiding With God to Conquer Addiction
If you know my story, you understand that my father's alcoholism played a big role in my younger years. Having shared that journey, I was curious what content was out there connecting Christianity and alcoholism.
I discovered more than I expected, but one book that stood out to me is called "Confessions of a Christian Alcoholic" by this week's guest, Jon Seidl. Jon practiced some radical vulnerability (his term) in the book, sharing his story and a solid four-step plan to use faith to conquer addiction. I'm glad to share this story and hope you'll connect with Jon as well!

Damon Fleming: An Audience of One
I never set out to have a podcast, so after finishing Season One, it took a little time to determine whether I wanted to keep at it. In the end, however, I think "Divine Fingerprints" is God's project -- both the book and the podcast. I believe there's value in doing God's work, and I don't think He wanted me to stop with one season. As of now, Season Two may only include a few new episodes, but hey, this is an unpaid side gig!
To kick off Season Two, I visit with my friend and former colleague at Hope Christian, Damon Fleming. Damon was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2014, and he's been dealing with it ever since. When we recorded this episode last summer, Damon was in complete isolation after being hospitalized and going through treatment that left him weak and vulnerable to being around anyone. God's presence and the evidence of His work in our lives takes on a very different meaning when facing down an illness that threatens life itself. Thankfully, Damon is currently in remission, and I hope you'll join me in praying for that to continue. I also hope you'll enjoy his perspective.

Bob Goff: Instagram Live Divine Fingerprints
The Divine Fingerprints podcast really is Bob Goff's idea, so it only seemed fitting to conclude Season 1 with our conversation from Instagram live, filmed a couple of weeks ago. The format of this episode will be very different -- mainly because Bob is the one asking me questions this time around! This is a more casual and wide-ranging conversation, but we do come back to my hope for this book and the podcast itself.

Skip Heitzig: Pastor's Perspective
I have attended Calvary Church for most of the 18+ years I have spent in Albuquerque. In that time, I've learned a great deal about God and His character from the teaching of Pastor Skip Heitzig. In this episode, Skip shares about God makes Himself present to us and how our stories are meant to glorify Him. He also explains how we can test our purpose as a method to discern if we are following where God is leading. As always, Skip is a wealth of knowledge and information, shared with a heart pointed toward Christ. You won't want to miss this conversation! Brandon Janous: Love Without Expectation
Brandon Janous and I cover a lot of ground in this episode, but what I most hope you, the listener, get from it, is a simple message: love the people you're with as completely as you can. Never assume you'll have more opportunities to show God's love to those around you. And don't worry about whether that love is always reciprocated perfectly. If you know Brandon's story, you know he's been through hard things. But his heart is full of joy. I hope some of that joy has rubbed off on me through our interactions! Kim Stuart: God's Grace Shows His Goodness
God uses divine fingerprints to show off aspects of His character, but it seems that most often this evidence shows His goodness. Kim Stuart spent much of her life thinking that she needed to earn God's favor, only to realize that His grace is unmerited favor. She didn't need to keep striving to earn something she had already been given. Through God's grace and the evidence of His presence in our lives, we see His goodness.

Perry Floyd: Chaplain's Considerations
Perry Floyd originally planned to attend the US Air Force Academy, but God had other plans. He has been a pastor and a chaplain for a high school in Albuquerque now for many years, working with students and people of all ages.
In those years, Perry has become a mentor to hundreds, if not thousands, of students and attendees of his church. That includes me! His new book, Consider This, condenses a lifetime of Christian wisdom into devotional-sized portions with a dose of humor and lots of perspective.

Jodi Cowles: Fingerprints Around the World
Can you identify something in your past that changed your path so dramatically that your life would be completely different otherwise? If so, you've already got something in common with this week's guest Jodi Cowles.
After her first book did not sell in the way she had hoped, Jodi's path took her all over the world as she chose to serve and document Jesus' work in many countries. She eventually spent eight years in Turkey. Jodi's time overseas profoundly influenced her more recent books and her understanding of her faith and her relationship with Jesus.

Glenda Durano: God's Profound Answer to Trials
We tend to turn to God when we run out of answers. As a Certified Educational Planner, our guest this week, Glenda Durano, has regularly encouraged prospective college students as they embark on the biggest decision of their lives to that point. Many pray for clarity.
Yet other times, we think we have the answer and pray to God that He might grant our answer efficiently. But we've also experiences those times when our prayers go seemingly unanswered. We can respond in a number of ways.
In this episode, Glenda shares the story of her daughter's struggle with an awful medical ordeal as she finished college. Through the setback left her daughter blind, over time the family discovered how God's initial silence turned into an answer more profound than they could have imagined.

Andy Troeger: Divine Fingerprints Chapel Recording
BONUS EPISODE!
I recently spoke with about 700 high school and middle school students at my school's weekly chapel services. I didn't intend to make this part of the podcast, but I have the recording and want to share!
This episode will give listeners a sneak peak into the heart of my upcoming book. In this clip, I tell a couple of my own stories of divine fingerprints, explain the defining characteristics of those fingerprints, and give my students some encouragement about how to use them.
As always, thanks for listening! We'll return to the usual format next Monday!

Amy Fankam: Pivotal Moments
If you've watched the trailer episode, Amy Fankam is the friend I met in the college class I never should have taken. Still, that's a story for another day. In this episode, we talk about many other pivotal moments our journeys.
Amy ended up at Notre Dame in part because of a wall-sit competition. You read that right. She tore her ACL during her freshman year and still scored a goal in the College Cup (think Final Four) before getting it repaired. That's toughness. Now she coaches Hope Christian's Girls Soccer team, which has won four state titles in a row.
Join us as we talk about those experiences and what we've learned from God through the pivotal moments where He left His mark in our stories.

To start this podcast journey, Andy welcomes friend and New York Times Bestselling Author Bob Goff to discuss divine fingerprints. Together, Bob and Andy tackle some important questions. Trailer
Welcome to the Divine Fingerprints Podcast. Today, I introduce the concept of divine fingerprints. If you've ever felt like you were redirected by the circumstances in your life in a way that brought you closer to Jesus, you'll be familiar with the type of stories we'll share in future episodes. Even if this is a new idea for you, I hope you'll join.
For a Biblical example of divine fingerprints, think of the book of Esther in the Old Testament. God is never mentioned, but His impact is felt throughout the narrative.
