रामायण के अनुसार, भगवान राम ने वन में अपने वनवास के दौरान अपनी पत्नी सीता की तलाश में थार रेगिस्तान का निर्माण किया था। राजस्थान की कुल आबादी का लगभग 40% थार में रहती है। थार मरुस्थल उत्तर पूर्व में अरावली पहाड़ियों से लेकर दक्षिण में कच्छ के रण और पश्चिम और उत्तर पश्चिम में सिंधु नदी के बाढ़ के मैदानों के बीच फैला हुआ है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि थार दुनिया का सबसे सभ्य रेगिस्तान है। वास्तव में अध्ययनों से पता चलता है कि लगभग 50,000 साल पहले सभ्यता थार क्षेत्र में विकसित हुई थी। थार रेगिस्तान भारत और पाकिस्तान के साथ सीमा को चिह्नित करता है। लगभग 85% थार रेगिस्तान भारत में और शेष पाकिस्तान में है। अकेले भारत में, थार रेगिस्तान की सीमा गुजरात, हरियाणा और पंजाब से लगती है।

Why was Lord Ram exiled for exactly 14 years? श्री राम भगवान को 14 वर्ष का ही वनवास क्यों दिया गया? 12 या 15 का क्यों नहीं।
मंथरा के बुरे प्रभाव में कैकेयी ने राजा से अपने दो वरदानों को पूरा करने की मांग की। कैकेयी ने भगवान राम को 14 साल के लिए वनवास और भरत को अयोध्या के राजा के रूप में ताज पहनाने का फैसला किया। तो सवाल यह उठता है कि उन्होंने 15 या 13 के बजाय 14 साल का वनवास क्यों मांगा? कैकेयी को पता था कि अयोध्या के लोग भगवान राम से बहुत प्यार करते थे। वह जानती थी कि अगर भरत को राजा बना दिया गया, तो कोई भी उसे राजा के रूप में स्वीकार नहीं करेगा यही कारण है कि उसने दशरथ से भगवान राम को 14 साल के लिए अयोध्या से वनवास करने के लिए कहा ताकि उसका पुत्र भरत निर्विवाद राजा हो सके। आइये जानते हैं कि श्री राम वनवास 14 वर्ष का ही क्यों था।
