Have you ever wanted to get into the Marvel comics but didn't know where to start? Or maybe you don't have the time to sit down and read comics, but could listen to a podcast that summarizes them? Well then you've come to the right place! Join me as I summarize Marvel comics issue by issue. The order is based on the "Modern" roadmap outlined in the Continuity Guide (continuityguide.net), a fan-made guide for reading Marvel comics. It will be enlightening and dare I say a little humorous as I attempt to untangle the Marvel Universe on Earth-616. Hope to see you there!

The Punisher: Planet X, Part 4 - Welcome Back, Frank
This week we’re diving into our first Punisher comic. Join me as I cover Welcome Back, Frank (https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/18977/slug)from the Modern Era Continuity Guide (https://www.continuityguide.net/marvel-modern). Widely considered one of the character’s defining stories, this comic reintroduced Frank Castle to Marvel readers with a perfect blend of action, violence, and dark humor.
After returning to the streets of New York, the Punisher quickly finds himself at war with a brutal crime family. Along the way, he’s pursued by two determined detectives, plagued by eccentric neighbors, and forced to deal with a trio of would-be vigilantes inspired by his crusade. If you’ve ever wondered why the Punisher became such an enduring Marvel character, this is the story that helped cement his legacy.

This week, we return to Daredevil in Parts of a Hole (https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/15694/slug) by David Mack as we continue through the Modern Continuity Guide (https://www.continuityguide.net/marvel-modern). These issues introduce Echo in a fascinating way. Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, is a talented young woman with an extraordinary ability to perfectly mimic anything she sees. As Matt and Maya get to know each other, her ties to the infamous Kingpin begin to surface, and Matt is in for a wild ride.
Join me as I break down this story and explore themes of identity, trust, and manipulation, and how they shape one of the most unique Daredevil stories of the modern era.

Planet X 1: Guardian Devil
Planet X is the first chapter of the Modern Era Continuity Guide, covering the period where Marvel began transitioning into what many readers consider the modern age of comics. While the chapter gets its name from a later X-Men storyline, we begin our journey here with Daredevil's Guardian Devil. This series was started in 1998, written by Kevin Smith and pencilled by Joe Quesada. Here is the link to Marvel Unlimited (https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/15609/slug) to start the arc, and the link to the Planet X Chapter (https://www.continuityguide.net/planetx) of the Continuity Guide.
