Do You Expect Us to Talk? returns back to bond in its original book form. Picking this up after last time after taking 2 years to cover a book review. We take on Flemings 3rd book and arguably one of the best. Bond is sent to look into a millionaire businessman Hugo Drax who is suspected of cheating at cards. Working on a nuclear missile called The Moonraker, Drax's chief of security is shot. Bond is also then sent to investigate with fellow undercover agnate Gala Brant and uncovers a terrifying plot to distort London. Join us as we talk the state of the current bond series, what part of the book lags if at all, how Drax is both repulsive and charming at the same time and why Fleming didn't explain bridge as well as baccarat. Do You Expect Us to Talk? returns back to bond in its original book form. The second novel in Ian Fleming's series, following Casino Royale, Live and Let Die sees James Bond travel to New York, Florida, and finally Jamaica to take down the gangster and SMERSH agent Mr. Big. Using smuggled 17th-century gold coins from a pirate treasure hoard, Mr. Big launders the proceeds through his Harlem-based criminal empire, funneling the money back to SMERSH to fund Soviet operations. Teaming up once again with his old friend Felix Leiter (now with the CIA), and aided by Mr. Big's reluctant mistress and fortune-teller Solitaire—who defects to Bond's side—007 sets out to dismantle another arm of the deadly Soviet spy network.
