About Don’t Let The Old Lady In

💃 DON'T LET THE OLD LADY IN Conversations with Lorie Helping women create their healthiest chapter yet. What if getting older wasn't about becoming less... but about becoming more of who you were always meant to be? Welcome to Don't Let the Old Lady In: Conversations with Lorie—a warm, thought-provoking podcast for women who want to age with strength, vitality, purpose, and joy. I'm Lorie Gardner, a Registered Nurse, Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Healthcare Advocate, and Longevity Coach. For more than four decades, I've had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of life's most meaningful moments. Those experiences have taught me that healthy aging is about so much more than preventing disease or adding years to your life. It's about staying connected to yourself. Each Tuesday, I'll invite you into a guided coaching conversation where we'll explore the questions that help you slow down, reflect, and create lasting change—one small step at a time. Together, we'll talk about healthy aging, strength, nutrition, brain health, emotional well-being, healthcare advocacy, purpose, relationships, resilience, and what it truly means to create your healthiest chapter. These aren't lectures. They're conversations. Conversations that help you reconnect with yourself, trust your inner wisdom, and remember what it feels like to be fully alive. So pour yourself a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, and join me each week. Because I believe your healthiest chapter isn't behind you. It may be the one you're about to create. One conversation. One small step. One healthier chapter.

When You Are The Patient, Who Is Paying Attention?

You’re usually the one who handles things. You ask the questions. Make the decisions. Take care of everyone else. But what happens when suddenly YOU’RE the patient? A hospital stay can quickly turn even the most capable person into someone tired, overwhelmed, and trying to absorb important medical information when she’s least prepared. In this week’s Don't Let The Old Lady In Conversation with Lorie, we’re talking about healthcare advocacy from a perspective we don’t often consider until we need it: Who’s paying attention when you can’t? And there’s one question I wish every woman would answer before she ever lands in a hospital bed: If you couldn’t advocate for yourself tomorrow, who would? Thank you for listening. I wish you an amazing aging journey, so I have listed a few resources for you to get you started.Midlife and Beyond Wellness Kickstart Guide - 7 Simple Shifts to Reclaim Your Radiance, Health and Confidence: https://midlifewellnesskickstartguide-0qs.plannerpack.coYour Radiant Reset: Midlife & Beyond Checkup for Body, Mind, Spirit: https://yourpersonalizedwellnessinventory-9ae.plannerpack.co    Schedule a Complimentary Clarity Call with Lorie: https://healthlinkadvocates.mykajabi.com/contact  Join our private and free Facebook Group, Magnificent Midlifers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/magnificentmidlifers  Disclaimer:  https://bit.ly/4dMRNtE

What Are You Really Hungry For?

The Kind of Nourishment Food Can’t Provide What if the thing you’re hungry for has nothing to do with food? You can eat well, exercise, take your vitamins, and do all the things you’re “supposed” to do — and still feel like something is missing. Maybe you’re craving more connection. More peace. More adventure. More affection. More fun. Or simply more moments when you feel fully alive. In this week’s Don't Let The Old Lady In - Conversation with Lorie, we’re looking at a different kind of nourishment — and one question that may change the way you think about what you’re consuming every day. Because sometimes what feels like something is missing may actually be something asking to be fed. Thank you for listening. I'll Start When...... What Are You Waiting For

How many times have you told yourself, “I’ll start when…” When life settles down. When you have more energy. When you feel more confident. When you finally feel ready. But what if waiting to feel ready is exactly what’s keeping you stuck? In this week’s Conversation with Lorie, we’re looking at the things we quietly keep putting off — and why the “right time” we’re waiting for may never actually arrive. Because sometimes the hardest part isn’t knowing what you want to change. It’s giving yourself permission to begin before you feel ready. So, what have you been waiting for? And what might change if you stopped waiting?
