From house and trap to bass-heavy festival records and melodic productions, his sound has continued to evolve while always carrying his unmistakable identity as an artist. For many of us who grew up listening to EDM, “Thief” is a record that instantly brings back memories. The track became a defining moment in Ookay’s career and one of the standout records of its era. Over the years, Ookay has performed at some of the biggest festivals and stages in the world, including Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and EDC Las Vegas, reaching audiences who have followed his music throughout the years. In this episode, we go beyond the music and talk about Ookay’s journey as an artist, the sounds and artists that influenced him, the evolution of electronic music, his experiences touring and performing around the world, the different chapters of his career, and what has kept him inspired after more than a decade of creating music. There’s something genuinely special about sitting down with an artist whose music has been a part of so many people’s lives. For those of us who grew up during that era of EDM, Ookay’s music carries memories of a time that shaped our love for electronic music in the first place.
