Back From Korea & Ready to Talk: Women’s Golf, Global Love, and the PIF Deal
In this episode, Doris returns from Korea energized and inspired by the extraordinary cultural appreciation shown to women’s golf across Asia—where two dedicated golf channels broadcast women’s tournaments and there's a level of fandom rarely seen in the U.S. She reflects on the stark cultural contrasts in how female athletes are celebrated globally, and why the Asian swing can be transformative for LPGA players’ visibility and confidence.
But this episode also dives into a more complex conversation: the LPGA’s new deal with the Public Investment Fund (PIF). While much of the current golf media seems quick to accept the announcement without critique, Doris shares her candid thoughts on why this partnership deserves deeper, more nuanced discussion within the women’s golf community. She walks through the pros, the concerns, the precedent set by LIV and the PGA Tour, and why women’s golf must demand its full value on the global stage.
This episode blends cultural insight, tough questions, and deep love for women’s sports — all from the perspective of someone who just witnessed firsthand what female athletes should be experiencing everywhere.
