Like most 40 something movie dorks, we grew up in video stores. Specifically, one of my favorite things was going with a friend and taking forever looking at every box to pick what we’d rent. Browsing Tubi is basically the modern day equivalent of the video store. There are a million different choices, from weird B movies to more mainstream stuff. On Down The Tubi, we browse their selection once a week and choose something to watch. The next week we discuss it and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
*DISCLAIMER: The audio in this one isn’t up to our usual standards. We were having some equipment issues and had to do some workarounds just to get it recorded. It’s listenable, but we pride ourselves on having professional sound quality and this one doesn’t quite get there. Hopefully we’ll have it sorted by next week. *
Our unplanned series of movies with the word “blood” in the title continues this week as we talk about the batshit 1987 horror comedy “Blood Diner”. Topics include: the missed opportunity of not casting Marlon Brando, the oddly large amount of Hitler cosplayers for one movie, and whether or not Stan was fucking his dummy/mannequin friend. PLUS: the world’s first St-ussy!
Thank you so much for listening! We truly appreciate it. The show is still pretty new and we’re trying to grow it, so if you’d like to help us do that, a follow on your podcast app of choice really helps. Or a follow on Instagram @downthetubi. Or if you wanna be REALLY awesome, tell a movie nerd friend about it. We also welcome questions/comments/suggestions/whatever via email to downthetubi@gmail.com.

22 - The Blood Spattered Bride
In honor of my wedding (which just got done, but I had to get that fresh content out to yall), we’re talking about the 1972 psychosexual vampire horror giallo melodrama something or other “The Blood Spattered Bride”. Topics include: the main character being the fastest sketch artist on planet earth, the main character’s husband being the grossest creep in the history of cinema, and the weird inclusion of an oddly racist cuckoo clock.

21 - RL Stine’s Pumpkinhead
It’s officially October yall, and our show is legal.
This week, we start by talking about the major movies coming to theatres and streaming this month (and there are some good ones).
Then we get to our movie, a very Canadian Tubi Original adaptation of a short story by the legendary children’s horror author. How many horror tropes are crammed into this thing? Is the main character (played by the improbably named Bean Reid) the most annoying character in movie history? Would you trespass in someone’s house in exchange for a bowl of candy? We’re answering all these questions and more.
Thank you for listening. It truly means a lot to us. If you like it and wanna be awesome and help us grow the show, follow on your favorite podcast app or tell a friend.
