Dan and Raul (and sometimes friends!) are TV and Movie lovers who enjoy discussions on current & old movies & TV shows. Listen to them casually debate, pontificate, correlate and appreciate whatever comes to mind related to watching stuff.
DTW keeps scaring up treats for the season of the witch and this week is no different! Dan and Raul saw both Carrie and Carrie, one as a '70s Brian DePalma directed Stephen King adaptation and the other as the first two eps of the new series by Mike Flanagan for the streaming age. The original is very much a product of it's time, but remains culturally impactful and cinematically impressive. Comparing the start of the new series with the original film reveals similarities and contrast that both enrich the experience of rewatching the original while exciting us with what comes next on the show. It's safe to listen, nobody's gonna laugh at you!

#318 - Resident Evil (2026)
Spooky season swings into adaptation territory with Zach Cregger's Resident Evil, so DtW need the power of both resident gamers! Dan let's Raul and Jonnie plumb the depths of lore and gameplay mechanics around Capcom's historic survival horror title to better grasp how this is the most accurate game to film adaptation despite lacking the series' most recognizable features. No question, the gang enjoyed the film, but how much? Strap your zombie-grandma into the passengers seat and find out!

#317 - October 2026 TV Premieres!
October is back again, like every year, and Down to Watch has small screen tricks and treats for your plastic pumpkin bucket! Dan and Raul filled their candy bags with what's coming up in the next few weeks and Dan has a bunch of returning favorites like The Lowdown, The Diplomat, The Tulsa King and the more! Raul brought nerdy stuff like Anthony Bourdain's Get Jiro animated food and violence fest and VisionQuest from the MCU fill the fandom slot this month. Of course, a little spooky goes a long way this month as Mike Flanagan remakes Carrie into one of his signature series and Jason's mom plans on some blood splattered revenge in the prequel series Crystal Lake starring Linda Caredellini. October was packed and there's a lot more in this episode, so ring the doorbell and hold out your bag!
