Nothing we say here is investment advice – we don’t know your personal situation, your goals, or any other variables that we use to create a unique financial and investment plan for you and your family. We’re here just chatting and of course you’re welcome to reach out to anyone at Doxa Capital if you are interested in a plan that complies with your financial situation.

In episode 33 of Doxa Takes, Conor Sen returns for his annual check-in — and what a difference a year makes. Last fall the question was whether the economy was on the verge of weakening with rate cuts ahead; now mortgage rates are 7.5%, the 10-year sits at 5.3%, and the debate is how high rates have to go. Chase & Conor get into why: a labor market that found its footing, shelter inflation flipping from tailwind to headwind next year, and an AI boom putting upward pressure on everything. It seems that getting inflation down requires hitting the AI boom, the stock market, or the labor market, because housing is already dead and you can’t kill it twice.
The takeaway, early-2000s edition: if the AI trade ever cools, it’s the other side of the theme trade that holds in there. Diversification matters more than ever. Enjoy!

History of Doxa (Ep.32)
Doxa Capital is named after a 2,400-year-old argument between Plato and Aristotle. And we finally looked up the details.
After 31 episodes talking about markets and financial planning, it's time for a history lesson. The story of Doxa — where the idea came from, why we built it the way we did, and what we want it to be for the next few decades: personal, intentional, and built to endure. And what does Doxa mean anyway? Enjoy!

Too Much Cake (Ep.31)
Q2 was all you can eat cake. Then the bill came in July.
In episode 31, Chase & David dig into the theme they've talked about all year - cake & veggies: the AI build-out mania and the quality compounders that provide the ballast. Behind the market volatility is a very extreme market structure: chip stocks dominating the indices, levered ETF's and zero-day options everywhere, and momentum that unwound as fast as it built. The takeaway: diversification across factors and themes - not just sectors - matters more than ever.
The old adage 'you never stand in the same river twice' is top of mind when unpacking the rest of the year. Rates sit near the level at which becomes a headwind for stocks, $80+ oil is complicating the inflation picture, and a $1.4 trillion data center build-out is crowding out a lot of the economy. Don't expect a Q2 rerun; different variables equal different outcomes - and there is a lot of sorting out to do.
