Can we Swindle God And Get Away With It? - Dr. Bob Jones III
The sermon centers on the profound truth that every person is a divine creation, designed by God to live for His pleasure, a purpose corrupted by sin but restored through faith in Jesus Christ. Drawing from Colossians 1:16 and Revelation 4:11, it emphasizes that all things were created by God and for Him, making human life a sacred stewardship of His ownership and design. The preacher underscores that sin has rendered humanity incapable of pleasing God, turning us into 'swindlers' who rob Him of His rightful purpose, and warns that eternal separation from God—hell—is the consequence of such spiritual theft. Yet, through Christ's sacrificial death, which God Himself found pleasing, believers are reconciled, their sins forgiven, and their lives restored to a purpose of joyful obedience, prayer, and service. The message calls all listeners to abandon self-reliance, embrace their God-given identity, and surrender fully to Christ, the only means by which a sinner can once again please the Creator and fulfill the divine design for which they were made.
