Dr. Pam Unleashed: Real talk. Whole pets. No B.S. You love your pet like family - and you’re not here for generic care plans, five-minute vet visits, or fear-based pressure to “just do chemo.” You want real answers. Root-cause healing. A pet partner who gets it. I’m Dr. Pam Montgomery-Fittz - holistic vet, functional medicine nerd, and your guide to doing things differently. For nearly 30 years, I’ve helped pets heal with a whole-body approach that starts with food... but doesn’t stop there. If you’ve ever thought “There has to be more than pills and protocol,” this is where it begins. Connect with Dr. Pam at RevitalingPetCare.com.
E27 - The Gland Effect, part 3: Testosterone Restoration
Hormone replacement for dogs. A few years ago, that would've sounded made up. Today, it's something I'm actually doing, with real results, in my own practice.
Here's where the idea actually comes from. Last November, the FDA reversed something it had been telling women for over twenty years, it pulled the black box warning on hormone therapy for menopause, the one that scared a whole generation away from a treatment that could have genuinely helped them. Turns out the original warning was overstated. That's the medical field publicly correcting course on something it got wrong.
I've been asking a version of the same question all series long: if hormones matter this much for humans, why wouldn't they matter just as much for our dogs? Part 3 of The Gland Effect is where I finally answer it, what we're actually doing in male dogs right now, real cases, real results, and the honest truth about how far we still have to go, especially for females. You'll also hear where things stand with Jet now, not just what happened to him, but what's changed since.
If your own dog's already been spayed or neutered, this episode is for you specifically. Not a lecture on what you should have done differently. A real look at what's possible from here.

E26 - The Gland Effect, part 2: It's Not Bad Luck, It's Chemistry
What if the changes we blame on “getting older” are actually changes in chemistry?
In this episode of The Gland Effect, Dr. Pam explores what happens when hormones decline in humans – and what happens when dogs lose their reproductive hormones suddenly through spay or neuter. Using Gus, a German Shepherd whose health unraveled after neutering, she explains how hormone loss can affect muscle, joints, skin, metabolism, immune function, and overall wellbeing.
Most importantly, this episode isn’t about guilt – it’s about recognizing what may be happening and understanding that there may be ways to help.

E25 - The Gland Effect, part 1: Spay, Neuter or Door #3
Every puppy parent hears two words: spay, or neuter. Nobody mentions there's a door number three. In this episode of The Gland Effect, Dr. Pam walks through the decision most owners make without ever knowing what they were actually choosing between – backed by a 2023 study of over 6,000 dogs, and a hard personal story about her own dog Jet. If you've ever wondered whether "the standard thing" is actually the right thing, this one's for you.
