Episode 37: Multitasking vs. Single-Tasking ( The Hidden Cost of Doing Everything at Once)
Episode 37: Multitasking vs. Single-Tasking ( The Hidden Cost of Doing Everything at Once)
Are you really productive when you do several things at once, or are you simply keeping yourself busy?
In Episode 37 of The Dr. Rajendra Maurya Show, we explore the difference between multitasking and single-tasking, and how constantly switching between activities can affect our time, concentration, and productivity.
I also share a simple experiment I conducted using just a pen and paper. Writing two tasks separately took me 19 seconds, while switching between them took 42 seconds. In another test, completing three tasks one after another took 40 seconds, compared with 121 seconds when I alternated between them.
These were my personal experiment results, not a formal scientific study, but they offered me a valuable lesson: giving one task your full attention may be more effective than constantly switching between multiple tasks.
🎧 In this episode, you'll discover:
Why being busy doesn't always mean being productive.
The hidden cost of constantly switching tasks.
How single-tasking can improve focus and work quality.
Five practical ways to reduce distractions.
How to be more present at work and in personal relationships.
Remember, success isn't about doing everything at once. It's about giving the right things your attention at the right time.
Listen, reflect, and start practising focused action today!
